Mouri Ran (17)

Ran’s Story
As the champion of the Tokyo karate competition, Mouri Ran attended the same school Kudo Shinichi went to. Ever since Shinichi went missing – because he had turned into Edogawa Conan – Ran worried about him. Conan then used the voice-changing bow to talk to Ran on the phone, by changing into Shinichi’s voice…

About Ran
Ran is definitely a favorite character of mine. She is strong-willed, and yet she seems so fragile when it comes to her loved ones being hurt or harmed. She is, as said earlier, a karate champ, but she still sheds tears when something touches her heart. Also she may seem to lack “niceness” because she seems so tough with her fighting, you can tell that she’s a very kind person, just from her perspective of certain moral values, her undying love for Shinichi (and her patience for waiting for him, too!), her kindness and sheltering nature towards Conan, who, when they’d first met, was just a “little boy” to her, her father, who is useless but she takes care of him anyway…

Friends & Family
Ran and Shinichi are childhood & best friends, always have been, always will be (hopefully). They have a deep, strong connection, and it will never cease as far as I’m concerned. She loves him a great deal but is too shy to admit it ^^ Ran is also best friends with Suzuki Sonoko, whom I think is a foil character (for those of you who study language arts, you should know what this means, right?). She is also friends with Toyama Kazuha, who is from Osaka. They somehow share a kind of connection because they’re both childhood friends of “mystery-loving idiots”.
Ran’s father is the useless detective Mouri Kogoro, and her mother is a brilliant lawyer, Kisaki Eri. They’re separated, but Ran tries very hard to get them back together. She doesn’t succeed very often either…actually she never succeeded… 1
