In 1926, sixth Sourashtra
Brahmin conference passed a resolution to start Sourashtra Brahmin Madhya Sabha
held in Madurai. In 1958, this was converted to Sourashtra Madhya Sabha.
From 1972 this Sabha was acting as recognised registered one. The chairman of
this Sabha was Thiru N.M. Ramalingam. The functioning office is in Kumbakonam.
The main objective of this Sabha
is to develop the Sourashtra community. Eventhough there were many problems in
the overall structure of the Sabha, the Sabha helped the families those who
suffered a lot financially.

* Backward Class
Committee
* Medical Committee
* Minority linguistic
women's Association.
Many Associations and Societies
have worked for the upliftment of Social, Cultural and linguistical development
of Sourashtrans. Some of them are.
