We weren't the only ones migrating North. We spotted heaps of whales, but this one gave us a bit of a shock surfacing right beside us at dawn near the entrance to Wide Bay. |

The entrance itself is quite intimidating. Once across the bar, you make a sharp left and sail along inside and parallel to the breakers. Once around the corner there are numerous ferries like this one carrying fourwheel drives to Fraser Island. Below we're anchored off Kingfisher Resort. |
