| West Percy Island | ||||||||||||||||||
| We had to pay a visit to the "Yacht Club" at West Percy Island to see if our burgee was still nailed to the ceiling- it was! Contrary to scuttlebut the A frame is in good condition, and is being maintained by the owner, Mick who has great plans for the island. We took a walk past the lagoon where we found 5 yachts and half a dozen catamarans high and dry. |

| Some were permanent, others just visiting. During a rolly uncomfortable night in the anchorage outside, we envied them their shallow draught. At the top of the island there's a homestead which dates back to an early settler, and hasn't been modernised much!! Mick, the leaseholder is a friendly fellow, [Jude's left] with grand plans for hosting an ecotourist cruise ship next year. |

| Close to the Homestead is a weather station with a great view which is soon to be replaced by an automated one. There's a barbecue pit at the back of the A Frame, so we organised a fire and a happy gang turned up to warm their bums and spin yarns! | ||||||||||||||||||
