| Of course August is not a good time to sail down the East Coast of Australia, so we headed out to South Molle Island to wait for a big HIGH we could go on the back of! We waited a week, but fortunately South Molle turned out to be one of our favourite islands with a friendly resort, plenty of walks and a great seafood buffet. | |||||||||||
| From this lookout [above] we could see across to Hamilton Island and right down the Whitsunday Passage to Brampton Island, North East to the Hook Passage between Hook and Whitsunday Island, and North West towards Airlie [top photo] In the bottom photo we overlooked Daydream Island and Shute Harbour. At the resort we shared a table at the famous - all you can eat - Friday Seafood Buffet with this lovely sailing family from Sydney on "Carovento". After a week we poked our nose out into the Whitsunday passage and motored South.....The Olympic Games started, and in most anchorages we got good reception and were glued to the screen. | |||||||||||
