CLOSING THE LOOP
Are we there???
Our intrepid navigator checks his PAPER chart  to establish the exact place we cross our outward path. [We weren't using Cmap then] Great excitement as at 5.30am on Sat 11th October 2003 half way between Cape Moreton and Cartwright Point we CLOSED THE LOOP! What a moment - Very emotional, even now I have tears in my eyes! SO GOOD TO BE HOME
We were heading for Sydney but after 3 days it was apparent there was a low in the Tasman that would trash that plan - bummer! So Plan B was Brisbane, and check in at Scarborough. As a full moon set behind Coolangata and the glass mountains, a bright sun rose behind us reflecting off the window.
Jamaican coffee was the
                     order of the day.
Customs and Quarantine have a dock at Scarborough Marina where they welcomed us with a $276 bill, and added insult to injury by confiscating all our food! We were shell shocked, and needed some more medicinal rum  before setting foot back onto Australian soil. Duck went back to his roots and swung from the trees- luckily the quarantine officer had left - animals [and birds] are locked up for 6 months...........................................
