PORT STEPHENS
We both love playing golf at Nelson Bay and Horizons golf courses in Port Stephens, so we were determined to spend some time here on our trip North. The modified club carrier works extremely well and attracts more than a few comments! This sign was an obvious photo opportunity, and we soon discovered why it was necessary!! Hi rellos.
With regards the golf... Jude turned on a great run of shots at Nelson Bay to win convincingly, but the match at Horizons, played in freezing 20 knot winds was halved! The E.Coast series now stands tied, Duck having won at Bayview in Mona Vale. After the golf, we had a date with Ian Treharne and Bea on their property in Pindimar, near the entrance to The Myall Lakes.  Anchored in cozy Fame Cove, we first tried the cross- country route, but  after 3 hours, found ourselves back where we started and decided to take Destiny around.
Ian and neighbour Colin picked us up at Alex's place in the ute and drove us to their place in Clarke St. Surrounded by chooks, dogs and horses we enjoyed some real country hospitality with Bea, her Mum and Leslie, around the yabby pond and barbecue before it was sunset and time to get back to the boat. It was a Sea Change for us, and one we thoroughly enjoyed.
We moved back to the free marina at Nelson Bay and met
Ian and Bev on Freycenet, and Terry and Sandy on Caribbean Blue for some ales and stories. A great interlude, and now we're waiting.. waiting for a promised Southerly wind to blow us to Coffs Harbour, about 150 Nm.
