| Couldn't wait to get away from Scarborough and find a free anchorage. The trip up the Brisbane River was a revelation! We were stunned by the number of developments along the river bank, and the tasteful way the old and new had been encorporated, with heaps of parks and a continuous cycle/walkway the whole length to the city centre. The entrance boasts a busy modern container port on a reclaimed mangrove swam. The bridge spanning the river carries the Pacific Highway past the city rim and links the Gold and Sunshine coasts. The river continues another 10 miles upstream to the heart of Brisbane, where yachts are able to anchor or tie up to pile moorings off the Botanic Gardens. We spent several nights here becoming aclimatised to Aussie customs, got our accents back and spent dreamy hours wandering up and down the aisles at Woolies gazing at the produce! |

| On the South Bank Jude found this lifesaver, and Duck contacted his middle brother Ross and his wife Karen, and met Thomas and Kristin his nephew and niece. We were so impressed with Brisbane - It's a re-juevenated city. | |||||||||||
