Arrived just in time for Happy Hour at the Yacht Club, so after making Destiny snug, and having a shower, we got to know the locals and had a great fish feed at Nigel and Ducks "favourite" table! Here you can see the bikes parked behind, and Duck about to get thrashed at golf!
Destiny is parked on the second wharf from the co-op building near the left end, facing towards the camera. We had spent a night at Trial Bay on the way up to avoid coming into Coffs in the dark. It was a great anchorage, perfect TV reception as is Coffs. When we anchor, I turn on the TV to check the reception before we drop it! After brekkie in Trial, we took the dinghy ashore to check out the gaol. Very interesting, well worth the effort. Then with 25-35 knots up the bum, had an exhillarating quick run [ surfing down waves at 12 knots] with a staysail and half a poled out headsail! Great fun, we loved it!
Here's Destiny with an empty berth next to her. We introduced ourselves to Joe Adams who designed her. He came aboard and was very complimentary. Also caught up with Ian Shiak [Manly Boatshed] and Ian Lewis [delivery skipper of Astroboy] who played Rugby with Duck at St Ives 25 years ago!! See Ducks Quackings!
We are planning to leave Wed 24th in the evening on route to Yamba!
