Arthur was a wonderful husband to Magdalene, who also lost her battle with cancer July 17,2000. His daughters, Shelia(Clement)Little and Shonda(Dotson)Layne and grandchildren, Sherry(Larry)Parks, Shawn Little, and Colby Layne all remember his fun natured and gentle kindness. Likewise, he is missed by his beloved neice,Mary(Terry)Potter and her children, Athenia(Davey)Harris and Adam Potter. He had a host of dearly loved friends and family, including his life long best friends Troy(Teresa)Hatfield,Benny(Elaine)Hatfield, and Green(Geraldine)Scott and their children. He may have lost his life to cancer but he was confident that he was going to be with his already departed family and friends. When asked about his thoughts on surviving or dying, he replied in his usual soft spoken manner, "I'm a winner, either way". This statement was memorialized at his funeral in a song with the same title. I need to mention also, His great affection for Kimberly(Harold)Cox,Ter esa Cox,Janetta(Andrew)Grigsby, and Sabrina Hurley. They brought so much joy and laughter to him. His onocologist was considered among his close friends, Dr. Sayed Hassani.
In the future, I hope there is a cure for any/all types of cancer. The struggle with it is almost to much for even the family and friends to bear. One can only imagine how the patients, themselves feel.
Please support cancer research and if you know anyone afflicted with this, please take time to give them a word of encouragement. I know, first hand, how much this helps.God Bless and Rest In Peace,Pa.
