A MESSAGE FROM...
OUR WORSHIPFUL MASTER...

Brethren,
The end of the year will be here before we know it, which means that the election of our new officers for 2002 is only a few weeks away.   DeSoto is proud to have new Brothers, and it is my hope that some of them will become Officers in the near future.   I am asking that all our Lodge Members offer their experience and prayers in support to our officers as they take on new responsibilities.   Your experiences can help them to grow and progess thru the line, contributing their talents to the lodge, thus helping it to continue to grow and prosper.
The officers and those interested in the Lodge will be meeting soon to chart the course for the next year.   Your prayers are coveted for a productive and informative meeting to insure that the best is in the plans for DeSoto.

                                                                      Faternally,
                                                                      Gene Major, WM

We are still taking donations to the H C 'Pappy' Warner Fund.   This is the only "Charity" fund that DeSoto has, and it has been used extensively during the past several years.   We need your help in restoring this fund, so that we may continue to 'help, aid and assist' worthy Brothers and their families.

Although no deaths of members of DeSoto or their families, we were saddened to learn of the death of PM Dave Black, an honorary member.   Our condolences are with the family.

Are you aware of any of our Lodge Brothers or their families who are sick?   Have you contacted the Worshipful Master, Secretary or Chaplain with this information?   If you know of someone who is sick, please inform one fo the above lsited officers.   Your Lodge needs to know!!!

The Grand Lecturer will be at DeSoto on Friday, October 26, 2001.   If you are an officer or a Proficiency Card Holder, you are expected to be there.   If you are not, you can come and learn some more of the ritual work from our new Lecturer.   We will have cold cuts prior to the work and begin work at 7:00 PM.

The Dinner honoring our Widows has been set for Saturday, October 20, 2001, at 7:00 PM.   All are invited.   Reservations are required!!   Call the Secretary at 327-9063 no later than Tuesday, October 17, 2001.   We expect a large crowd, so get your reservations in early.
