A MESSAGE FROM...
  OUR WORSHIPFUL MASTER...

Brethren,
The year is swiftly coming to an end, and my term as Master is almost gone.   There may not have been as many degrees this year as we would have liked, but we have had a very productive year.   Our by-laws are ready for the vote of the Lodge and the approval of the Grand Lodge.   Our financial pictureis better than it has been in several years, and work on the Lodge building is continuing.   Dues of all Brothers who had not remitted their dues have been remitted by the Lodge.

                                                                                               Faternally,
                                                                                               Jim Nichols, WM

Preliminary work on updating the by-laws has been completed and proposed changes were presented at the September Stated Meeting.   They will lay over until the October meeting, at which time they will be voted on.   If you have any comments or concerns, contact the Secretary or the Master, and get your comments aired.   Copies will be sent to each member once the Grand Lodge has approved them.

Special Note from the Secretary

Brethren. after the September Stated Meeting, we were informed of the death of our Worshipful Master's Brother in Thomasville, GA.   Let's all remember him and his family in our prayers.   Don't forget to watch for the date of our Widow's dinner which will be in October this year.

The basic purpose of Freemasonry is to "make man better then himself."   As our institution places emphasis on the individual man, its mission is accomplished by strengthening his character, improving his moral and spiritual outlook and broadening his horizons.   By the inculcation of its teachings Free-masonry seeks to impress upon the minds of its members the principles of personal responsibility and righteousness, to give each an under- standing of and feeling for its charity, and endeavors to encourage each to put these lessons into practice in his dailylife.   Thus does it seek to build a better world by first building better men to work at this self-appointed task in their own communities.   Free masonry believes in universal peace made possible by the acceptance of its great doctrine of the Brotherhood of Man under the Faterhood of God.
Freemasonry also seeks to enlighten the mind of man by placing within his grasp a reasonable understanding of the persistence of life through both time and eternity.   In the framework of its teachings each man may find a philosophy of life which will fit his own need.
