A MESSAGE FROM...
OUR WORSHIPFUL MASTER...

Brethren,
We have all been affected by the recent terriorist attack on our nation.   Dealing with our emotions has been difficult.   It is time when our faith is being tested, but as people of faith, we are taught to be positive and find something good for a bad situation.
I have found the good by seeing the new found growth of patiotism with the singing of our National Anthem, and the acceptance of open prayer.   As Masons we know the importance of these practices and the love of God and country and we will continue them with pride.
To our Brother Masons and their family members who are in the military, police, fire departments, emergency rescue and other well respected services: you are in our thoughts and prayers.   There isn't a price we can put on your unselfish responses to our many needs.   I thank you for all that you do and pray for your safety.

                                                                                Fraternally,
                                                                                Gene Major, WM

We are still taking donations to the H C 'Pappy' Warner fund.   This is the only "Charity" fund that DeSoto has, and it has been used extensively during the past several years.   We need your help in restoring this fund, so that we may continue to 'help, aid and assist' worthy distressed Brothers and their families.

The Awards dinner has been set for Tuesday, November 13, 2001, at 7 PM.   There will be several awards presented and all are invited to attend.   Get your reservations in by calling the Lodge or the Secretary.   We must have a count no later than SUnday, November 11, 2001.   Any reservations after that time can not assure you of a meal.

The Grand Lecturer will be at DeSoto on Friday, October 26, 2001.   If you are an officer or a Proficiency Card holder, you are expected to be there.   If you are not, you can come and learn some more of the ritual work from our new Lecturer.   We will have cold cuts prior to the work and begin work at 7:00 PM.

The Dinner honoring our Widows has been set for Saturday, October 20, 2001, at 7:00 PM.   All are invited!   Reservations are required.   Call the Secretary at 327-9063 no later than Tuesday, October 17, 2001.   We expect a large crowd, so get your reservations in early!
