A MESSAGE FROM...
OUR WORSHIPFUL MASTER...

Brethren,
I would like to thank each of our Brothers, Ladies and Guests for attending our dinner honoring our Past Masters and Fifty-Year Members. Your presence made the dinner a huge success.   In attendance were two Past Grand Masters, sixteen Past Masters, one Fifty-Year Member and eight Past Masters from other Lodges.   Brother Ron Murphy, District One Chairman, was our Guest Speaker and gave a nice talk about President Harry Truman.   For the ones who were unable to attend, we missed you and hope and look forward to seeing you at our next event.
I had the honor along with Brother Joe C. Harrison, P.G.M. to present Brother Robert Tuttle Harrington with his fifty-year pin, certificate and plaque for his dedication, commitment, and service to Masonry.   Brother Marcus Virgil Gowan, Jr. was unable to attend.   He will receive his certificate, pin and plaque by mail.
We were pleased that Brother Tim Cook, Sr., P.M. was able to make it back from Washington, completing his active duty during the Iraq War   Brother Cook was presented a plaque for his service to the Lodge during the Year 2002.
Mary Cook was presented a plaque for her dedication and support she gave Brother Cook and the Lodge for the Year 2002.   Brother Dennis Pope also presented her with a plaque honoring her for Brother Cook's service and retirement from the United States Coast Guard.
We tied with Dunham Lodge 150 for the attendance banner at the District One Meeting.   We each had seventeen members present.   Dunham will hold the banner for six months then present it to us to hold until the next District Meeting.
I look foward to seeing each of you at the upcoming events and meetings   Ask other Brothers to attend the Lodge and enjoy the friendship and fellowship we are enjoying.

                                                                        Faternally,
                                                                        Swayne W. Merrell, WM

Craftsman Club News

When a man becomes a Mason he is often told that he will only get out of Masonry what he puts into it.   One of the best ways to give back to Masonry is for more knowledgeable brethren to instruct younger Masons.   The Craftsman Club is a valiable tool for DeSoto Lodge, because it is a place for the younger Masons to learn.   In addition to learning, the Craftsman CLub gives evryone a chance to learn more about each other personally.   I am especially grateful for each Brother that regularly attends and would like to encourage anyone who is able to come.   The Craftsman CLub meets every Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m., and I believe it to be vital to the future of Masonry
                                                                                        Ryan Carver, SW
