Brethren, Those of you who were unable to attend the Valentine's Dinner really missed a great time for fellowship. The Rainbow Girls outdid themselves with the excellent dinner they served. The photographer took over 40 pictures of the 'Sweet-hearts' and the Lodge will be distributing them soon. Brother Joe Harrison, Junior Grand Warden for the State of Tennessee, gave a very informative, yet concise talk on our most famous Mason and the first President of the US, George Washington. We had great representation from our Grand Lodge and as always everyone seemed to enjoy the Bingo.
One of the most fortunate things for King Solomon in the construction of the Temple was the alliance formed by his father, King David, with Hiram, King of Tyre. Solomon maintained this alliance and was thus able to obtain manpower and supplies needed for the building of the Temple. (1 Kings 5:13-16) As we seek the wisdom of King Solomon, let us not forget to keep our alliance with fellow Lodges and especially the Grand Lodge, from which we obtain and maintain our charter. I encourage as many of you as possible to attend the Grand Lodge thisyear, and return the interest shown us by the Grand Lodge, by having all our officers attend this year. April 29, 2000 has been set as time for our annual Past Masters' Dinner. Get your reservations in early. We hope to have a good representation this year, and something special is being planned.
Faternally,
Jim Nichols, Sr., WM

H.C. 'Pappy' Warner Fund
Several Donations have been made recently to the Pappy Warner Fund. Those donating include: Joe Martz, David L. King, PM Morgan Fowler, and Mrs Edith Carkeet, in memory of Stuart Carkeet. This fund has really been used for the past several months, and is in need of your support.
Dues
Thanks to those of you who have responded by paying your dues without receiving a notice. During the past three years, the Lodge has saved several hundred dollars in postage by not sending notices. However, to those who have not responded, we will send notices at a later date. Again, thanks to those who have responded to the request of the Lodge and the interest in saving money for YOUR Lodge.
BY-LAW CHANGE PROPOSED
At the March stated meeting, a proposed change to our by-laws was made to return to the First Friday night in the month for our stated meeting. When our by-laws were amended to change to Thursday nights, it was for the purpose of having more people attend. However, we have not had any more on Thursday nights than we had on Fridays. This by-law change will be brought to the floor of the Lodge for a vote at the April stated meeting. If you have any comments, feel free to address them to the Lodge and they will be read at the stated meeting. If you can, attend the stated meeting and express your opinion in person.
