A MESSAGE FROM...
OUR WORSHIPFUL MASTER...

To My Officers and Fellow Brethren,
It has been a great privilege to serve as Worshipful Master this year.   Your support was greatly appreciated.   We couldn't have had a productive year without your hard work and willingness to achieve the same goals.   It was a wonderful experience.
I wish the best to our incoming Master and hope he has a great year!

                                                                      Fraternally yours,
                                                                      Gene Major, WM, 2001

OUR WORSHIPFUL 2002 MASTER...

It is a great honor and privilege to be asked to represent DeSoto Lodge as Worshipful Master for the year 2002.   I am excited about the coming year and the events we have in store for our brothers and their families.   We are a charitable organization with a long and rich history of serving others.   Your newly elected and appointed Officers appreciate this opportunity to do just that.   Our goal for 2002 is to get back to basics and get more brethren back to our great Lodge!
Not long ago I submitted several new ideas to the Past Masters concerning the problems facing us as a Lodge in the years to come.   The Past Masters have overwhelmingly supported these new ideas, thus it is time to put them to work.   Beginning with the January 1, 2002 Stated Meeting we will put our first plan of action in place.   At the Stated Meeting Dinner we will have a fish bowl containing every current dues paying members' name.   We will draw a name and if that member is present he will receive $50.   We will also have our regular drawing where we draw for three door prizes.   However, during this year we will have a grand prize at each drawing.   The January Grand Prize is a $50 gift certificate redeemable at the Wolf Chase Mall.   At each Stated Meeting each member present will be given a ticket for the Super Grand Prize Drawing at the end of 2002.
I would like to thank Brother Harold Ricketts for all his hard work, help, and dedication to DeSoto Lodge during his tenure as Secretary.   Because of his extensive knowledge of the inter workings of the Lodge,   I hope he will continue to be of assistance to the Lodge and me as we prepare for the coming year. Once again thank you Brother Ricketts.

                                                                      Fraternally,
Timothy E. Cook, Sr., WM, 2002
