OUR WORSHIPFUL MASTER...

Brethren,

          Grand Lodge is now over and our Lodge was well represented this year.   It was a great experience, and the results of the proposed changes were consistent with the ideas of those in attendance fro DeSoto.   We were sad to learn that over 2,000 Brothers died last year and over 300 were from our area (Dist. 1).   An impressive memorial service was held in their memory.   Our revised by-laws were approved and are now in the Secretary's office for you.   Contact the Secretary or come by the Lodge and get your copy.

Saturday, April 28, 2001, DeSoto Lodge will host our anual Past Masters' Night.   Be sure to get your reservation in by calling 327-9063 now.   Don't wait and be left without a reservation.   We will be doing something a little different than usual.   Come and see.   Dinner at 7:00 PM.   Reservations are required and none can be accepted after Tuesday, April 24, 2001!
 

 

Have you made a charitable contribution to your Lodge?   Can you make a contribution to your Lodge?   Don't forget the H C 'Pappy' Warner Charity Fund.   This fund has been used several times during the past several years.   If you can spare something for it, it will be used for the purpose of providing assistance to 'Worthy Distressed Brothers and their Families'.   Remember your first Masonic duty: to help, aid, and assist.   Any amount will do!   Thanks to those who have already contributed.

Do you know someone in the Lodge who is sick, or in need?   Has there been a death that you are aware of?   Have you informed the Master or one of the officers?   Sometimes the only way that it is known that a Brother has passed away or is sick or one of his family is sick happens by accident.   If you are aware of someone who is sick or in need or if you know of a death,   "PLEASE"   inform the Lodge so that the necessary actions can be taken.
 

 

Our Revised By-laws were approved by the Grand Lodge and are now available.   If you would like a copy of the new by-laws, send a request to the Lodge at 272 Court Avenue, Memphis, TN 38104, or call the Secretary and a copy will be mailed to you.   Better yet, get your copy when you next attend Lodge.
