A MESSAGE FROM...
 OUR WORSHIPFUL MASTER'S DESK...

Brethren,
The month of March was a very busy month for DeSoto Lodge. We had a wonderful meeting at the Grand Lodge, with Brother K. I. Wright being elected as our Most Worshipful Grand Master. A number of important issues were voted on. We also had our District One meeting (4/1/00), where every Grand Lodge Officer was present, and GM Wright gave a very eloquent speech, laying out the objectives of 'Getting back to the Basics.' As Brother Wright said, "Each Mason should be a good role model for all mankind, always remembering Courtesy, Kindness, Honesty and Respect.
This was the relationship that Hiram, King of Tyre had with both David and Solomon. (I Kings, Chap. 5; II Samuel 5:11; I Chromicles 14:1) This is the example we are attempting to follow, not only with the Lodges within the walls of our Temple at FOurth and Court, but also Bartlett Lodge #796 and other Lodges recognized by Tennessee Grand Lodge. We were very fortunate to have help from Barlett Lodge and attendance from Lodges in Illinois and South Carolina when Brother Mike Wilson was passed to the Degree of Fellowcraft on March 31.
Our committees have been hard at work. We now have a Web Page linked to the Grand Lodge's web site. (www.desotolodge.com or www.desotolodge.org) Both sites are the same and make it easy for those on the Internet to locate information about us. Our Hardware has arrived and is expected to save the Lodge time and money with this upgrade. Our historian and by-law committees are hard at work, also.

                                               Fraternally,
                                               Jim Nichols, WM
