I may make mistakes, but being wrong isn't one of them!
Know your own limitations. That way, you'll be able to spot it when you overcome them.
Don't create the situation, then you won't have to deal with the problems it produces.
If you want something done properly, do it right.
A problem clearly stated is one on its way to being solved.
If you can distance yourself from a problem- however slightly- you will see it in a different light. Perspective of this kind is a very useful tool.
If you develop hiccups in the quiet room of a public library, place a live frog on the seat beside you (or the nearest empty seat available). This will not cure you, but the resulting chaos will give you plenty of time to leave the room without embarrassment to get a glass of water.
