Program Management/Systems Engineering/ Safety/ Quality

·         Led numerous new business acquisitions as the Proposal Manager that included improvements in the USPS postal systems and GM Computer Data Systems requiring costing, staffing, requirements analysis, and technical proposal development.  

·         Managed the systems certification activities for a commercial process controller as the Program Management Lead.  Responsible for system analysis, software reliability, hardware product safety, design systems examination, and quality.

·         Developed safety requirements specification for newly developed process controller equipment.

·         Ensured design complies with good systems engineering practices as referred to in IEC-1508.

·         Led Quality efforts by developing and implementing Quality Assurance Program Plan.

·         Initiated Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures related to CMM and ISO standards.

·         Developed and validated Service Level Performance Measurement.

·         Engineered systems for data warehousing, telecommunications and information technology.

·         Developed Marketing Strategies that revolutionized process control at Lockheed Martin by introducing Object based control such as CORBA and JAVA.

 

Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer/Senior Quality Engineer, 1/95 - 5/95

The Raymond Corporation, Greene, NY

 

·         Responsible for final quality and reliability of newly developed Dockstocker counter balanced fork truck that led to the most defect free product developed at Raymond.

·         Implemented prevention techniques using team efforts in assembly process that reduced defects from 16 per truck to .6 per truck in 3 months.

·         In charge of implementing Design For Manufacturing (DFM) and Concurrent Engineering concepts in all new electrical circuit board and electric designs.

·         Validated supplier of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and other circuit board technology.

·         Organized quality systems by noting the gap between known standards and proposed a quality plan to reduce gap.

 

Instrumentation Manager/Reliability Manager, 6/89 - 9/94

International Paper, Anitec Imaging Products Div., Binghamton, NY

 

·         Organized ten Instrumentation Specialists into process area that resulted in a 35% reduction in equipment failure.

·         Coordinated projects in excess of $2 million using system engineering techniques.

·         Implemented ISO-9000 calibration systems for environmental, product validation and process equipment.

·         Created department-wide Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Predictive Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance.

·         Developed corporate wide GMP standards for process controllers such as programmable logic controllers (PLC) and other computer systems.

·         Implemented controller projects, data acquisition systems, computer systems, data networking and statistical quality systems using FDA validation requirements.

·         Developed networking system that utilized statistical process control (SPC), statistical analysis, screening experiments, and other historical and real-time data techniques. 

·         Coordinated activities between marketing, R&D and manufacturing for the purpose of improving customer satisfaction.

·         Demonstrated stability and capability of processes using computerized systems that led to becoming a certified supplier to a Fortune 25 company.

 

Plant Electrical Engineer/Electrical Project Engineer,  6/79 - 4/86

Union Carbide Corporation, Battery Products Division, Asheboro, NC

 

·         Engineered all electrical projects in the Alkaline Battery Plant.

·         Supervisor and Electronic Technical Advisor for 10 Union Carbide electronics/electrical technicians and 15 outside contract electricians in maintenance and repair of electronic equipment.

·         Trained electricians in maintenance and repair of programmable logic controllers, automatic test equipment, motor control systems and power distribution.

·         Diagnosed all problems related to plant electronics equipment including programmable logic controllers, automatic test equipment and process electronic systems.

·         Designed and supervised projects involving power distribution to include transformer sizing and installation, switch gear installation and BUSS bar installation.
