Like many other major cities with a "Chinatown" the Necropolis police have found solving crimes in the Asian community of Little Asia a problem historically. Increases in yakuza activity and Triad controlled drug traffic in the city as well as many unexplained, unsolved murders in the area or city at large for the former two; have prompted the police to take action. The chosen solution: The Little Asia Task force.
The task force is made up of officers who have already proven themselves in the line of duty and have bi-lingual capabilities as well as an understanding of the asian cultures repesented in Little Asia. The majority, but not all, of the task force are of Asian descent. This makes dealing with the often closed mouth and culture cautious citizens of the area easier to deal with. Most of the non-Asian members have to go through a "breaking in" period before the locals will talk to then about much more than the waether or what they would like to eat.
These officers work all angles of the department co-ordinating operations with the other units to effectively do their job. Hence, there is at least one officer from each major unit inthe department here. Each is still responisible to answer to a Department superior. |
