There are few familes in the world that hold the keys to power. Even fewer still that have managed to keep these reins for as long as has the family known as the DeMedici.
To the mortal world the name Medici conjures images of Italian splendor and medieval power. Artists of the renaissance, Michaelangelo, DeVinci and other sought their patronage. They were the princes of Florence, her Lords and Ladies. The arms of their power stretched far and wide, reaching beond their city to effect the world.
For the followers of that history, their power began just before the renaissance and ended in ruin in the 1700's. The Medici line ending and its wealth and power falling into the hands of distant German relations. However, this is were mortal history fails. Behind even those German hands were faces of Italian, no, let me correct that... Roman blood. old beings lead by one who had watched his descendants rise to prominece and privialge. It was by his word that the family was taught humility and by his will that it rose again quietly, to take once more hold. A hold that is felt not just in the world of men, but in the world of the Kindred, those creatures that men call...vampire. |
