1. Blot if you must, but be gentle. Avoid tugging and wiping skin too vigorously. Instead, carefully place blotting tissue over face and do light tapping motions. Doing this absorbs excess oil without stretching your skin too much.

2. Back-ne bugging you? Not a prob if you pick a germicidal soap (like good old Safeguard!) or a body wash especially formulated for acne-prone skin. An acne treatment spray should also do the trick.

3. If you need a little coverage and want a matte look, pat on some loose powder. This formula absorbs shine better, as opposed to pressed powder, which contains oil. If you'd rather have a powder compact in your kikay kit, opt for an oil-control formula. Tip: for the cleanest and sheerest application, dust on powder (loose or pressed) with a big, fluffy powder brush.

4. Zap those zits with a spot treatment gel. Choose from benzoyl peroxide or salicylic-based formulas; these dry up pimples fast.

5. A good skin care regimen helps keep sebum production at a minimum. Find a skin care line that contains salicylic acid, an ingredient that controls oil production. But go easy on the facial wash. If you over-dry skin, it will produce even more oil to compensate for moisture loss. So don't skip moisturizer - find a formula that goes on matte. Use aa peel-off mask to lift away dead skin cells once a week.
