Greetings to all who come here. The DR section of this website is going to be dedicated to the wonderful dwarves of the game. If you already familiar with the game then click here and you will be taken to an IC page for start of the dwarves. If you aren't familiar with DragonRealms, then read on. ![]() DragonRealms is an on-line role-playing game. It is fairly inexpensive to play and is very addictive! You start out by signing up using the link provided below. Once in-game you will create your character. WARNING!! This is a text-based game. That means no graphics and a lot of typing. This can be discouraging at first, but let me tell you it is fun to play and after playing for a while, well who needs graphics - let your imagination take hold. Also, my husband plays DragonRealms as well and that's how he learned to type!! Anyway, character choosing: You will be asked to enter a name for your character. Please think about the time frame you are playing in. This is set in a sort of medieval fantasy style world. Choose your name accordingly. Don't choose something like snugglypooh and don't imitate a name you read in a book somewhere (Simutronics doesn't forbid this, but well be creative). If you choose an inappropriate name, there are folks in the game that come get your character and remove it. So make up a name that sounds like it would fit in. After you have a name for your character you will have to choose a race. There are eleven races: Gnome, Halfling, Human, Elf, Elothian, Prydaen, Rakash, Skr'a Mur, Dwarf, Gor Tog, and Kaldar. In the choosing room there will be statues of each race. You can LOOK at each one for a description, and you can TOUCH one to choose that race. (Capitalized words in last sentence are commands you use in-game.) A hint- you can touch the figure of your choice more than once to get different sets of stats. This isn't necessary but I would suggest trying to get as many stats at 10 or above as you can. After that you will go on to choose your features; hair and eye color etc... Then you will be sent out into Elonthia with some minimal supplies and some coin. My first suggestion is that you get some maps. (These are not in anyway done by me, but this is a great place to get them.) Next I would suggest going to the bank and dropping of your coin there. Although you don't have to worry about being robbed your first few circles, there are those that later on will put their hands in your pockets, often without you knowing it. From the bank go visit the guilds of your choice. There are ten guilds: Empath, Ranger, Moon Mage, Barbarian, Trader, Thief, Bard, Cleric, Paladin, and War Mage. I won't go into detail on the guilds since I don't know much about each one and you can visit them and ask the guild leader about them anyway. Once you have chosen a guild all you have to do is JOIN and the guild leader will tell you if you meet the stats required for that guild. If you do not meet them, DO NOT take the training he/she offers. This is a waste of TDP's (you need these to train) and money. Instead go out into the Crossing and find the places to train. After that return to the guild and try to JOIN again. Once you are joined to a guild, I would suggest familiarizing yourself with it. Usually somewhere in each guild is a shelf or rack or something where older players put stuff they no longer want. Find this and use it to your advantage. You can often find armor and weapons here. APPraise everything you find so you will know what it is and what it does. If you can't figure it out, ask someone. After you are familiar with your guild, wander around the Crossing and then get your gear and go hunt. Well, that's a brief introduction to the game. I hope it helps and has inspired you to click on the link below for your free 30-day trial. If you need anything or have questions feel free to email me. You can also look for Desii Anowor, dwarven Ranger; Shandre Anoworr, dwarven Empath; Taramor Quarry and Jharod Hathmon in-game and we will try to help you. You can also ask around. Most players are very friendly. ![]() Simutronics is a registered trademark and service mark of Simutronics Corporation, All rights reserved.
