Welcome to the Wild and Wacky World of Somebody with a Really Vivid Imagination...

Graphic Design is the moniker that is given to art that does the heavy lifting in the process of business communications.  It is our eyes that dominate our senses, and in a world of information overload it is often the visual representation of meaning that stands in the significant central role of defining our cultural institutions.

Graphic Design personifies the transforming blend of Fine Art principles and Information Science into a language of visual elements created to communicate our ideas, thoughts, and desires.  Do you get the picture?  Do you see what I mean?  Look, let me frame this image for you...

We are constantly seduced by the visions that surround us.  Even our dreams are dominated by images.  Composition, Line, Color, Geometry, Perspective, Typography, Media, Lighting, and a dozen other essential elements all contribute to the dramatic impact of visual design

Nature uses three-dimensional graphic design to perpetuate life, to procreate: the shimmering flower attracts the bee, the stunning plumes attract the other birds, and the symmetry of a beautiful face drives men & women crazy. The shifting circle of the moon and the sacred circle of the Mandala show us the innate power of geometry.

While graphic arts are considered the poor cousin of Fine Arts they play a much more significant role in our everyday lives, influencing the way we think, the things we care about, and the things we buy.  In the modern commercial era the single most significant element in the marketplace is The Brand.  Consumer allegiance to brand names drives the economy, and to a great extent it is the visual image of the brand the drives that recognition and allegiance.  Can quality Graphic Design be considered anything less than essential to success in the business world?

Okay, enough with the theoretical claptrap... here's the goods!

Its a wild underestimation to call graphic design by Richard Arthur Love anything less than stellar.  Here's a guy that's been scribbling and designing and scratching out original stuff for over 30 years.  He became a designer not because he wanted to but because he had no choice, was innately compelled to by nature.  There was nothing that he could look at that he couldn't figure out how to make it better, and in just a few moments time, a talent he occasionally considered a curse.

Always handy with a pencil, this is a kid who got punished for drawing on the walls and whose teenage heroes were Saul Bass and Milton Glaser.  He parlayed his natural graphic design ability into a long, occasionally stressful, and often successful (and often outright crazy) career as a designer of damn near everything.  This guy is a painter, a sculptor, a photographer, and illustrator, an architect, a fashion designer, and God knows what else! Hes a graphic design Godzilla who is still hungry after eating Tokyo
.

This web site, as simple as it is, has been put up to act as an online portfolio of graphic design elements, and so now you can go to the buttons at the bottom of the pages and click you way through a number of his clever little designs.  Dig a little deeper and you'll find a resume in there somewhere.

What youve got on this web site wouldn't even qualify as the tip of the tip of the iceberg.  Richard has designed over 5,000 fabric prints, 300 logos, hundreds of print ads, P. O. P. placements, uncountable window displays, 100's of full-size murals, and more knickknacks and illustrated Cadillacs than you can shake a stick at.

This guy is not only brilliant at designing stuff, he knows why he's doing it too, and could probably teach you a thing or two about the underlying science of his visual design interpretations of the clients exact needs.

But let's keep it simple for now.  Just punch through the pages using that cute little button at the bottom, and when you come up for a cup of air and grab a breath of fresh coffee youd better start wildly punching the numbers on your telephone keypad.  If you want to look good in this world then Richard Arthur Love is somebody you definitely need to talk to!
