Close your eyes and imagine…
...a serial-killer's guilt -- the victims revenge...
...Transwarp
Drive... (don't listen when trippin'!)
...what's going on inside Paris
Hilton's mind...
...being slowly
digested by a Tumerian sand worm...
...dream storms...
...what is string
theory? For that matter, what the heck are elementary particles?...

CUSTOM SOUND DESIGN AND SOUND EFFECTS
Are you a starving independent filmmaker needing sound-design
for your no/low-budget feature or short?
I'm a sound-designer specializing in bizarre, ethereal, alien,
and horrific audioscapes.
Useful for:
- Flashbacks and "Dream Sequences"
- Trippy scenes
- "Voices in my head"
- Horror/Scary noises (suspense-building)
- Alien and fantasy worlds
- Machinery sounds (machines, robots)
- Anything disturbing or unusual
Everything is custom-made specifically for your project to match
your footage. No stock effects (though the source may come from
a library, but the end result won’t sound anything like the original.)
I don't do: mundane stuff that you could do yourself
with the help of any number of stock sound libraries.
How this will work:
First get in touch with me to discuss the project. Then send a compressed
AVI or MOV (mpeg-4 preferred, but any format acceptable) of the
scene or scenes where sound is needed to my gmail account. Also
send anything you have anything recorded that you would like used
as the basis for the effect.
I will send a barely-compressed .mp3, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, or original
.wav/.aiff in stereo or 5.1 (stereo best, as your engineer should
do the 5.1 mix).
Turn around approximately one to two weeks. Quicker if its a short
bit. Longer if it's a big scene or several scenes.
I only ask for two things: (1) full credits and the ability to
post an excerpt on this site, and (2) complete artistic freedom,
which means that I'm allowed to do what I do best. However I'm still
genuinely interested in your ideas and will work with you to do
what you think is best for your film - I won't be an egotistical
ass about it.
The audio will be yours, as long as you use it as it was intended.
Cost: FREE for now. I’ll start charging (nominally) once I get
too busy and need to slow it down.
Why am I doing this? For more than 20 years I've
been designing electronics and writing software to mangle audio.
I also work in the film industry, and want to support independent
film. The projects I work on often aren’t suitable for these types
of soundscapes, and I'm looking for like-minded artists to work
with.
