Markets for your woodworking patterns, articles, ideas, etc.
Magazines:
American Woodworker
I emailed for guidelines, which are
here.
Carving
Chip Chats
Publication of the National Wood Carvers Association. I
emailed them for writers' guidelines.  The editor replied to say that they've accepted freelance articles/projects in the past, but they do not pay for them. She did not send me any guidelines, so I think they don't have any. Just email your article or project to them if you're interested.
Creative Woodworks and Crafts
The Family Handyman
Their articles are staff written, but they do accept submissions for "Handy Hints," "Workshop Tips,"  "Great Goofs," and "Wordless Workshop."
Here's their address for submissions.
Fine Woodworking
Popular Woodworking
Scroll Saw Workshop
Email photos and article/project outline to them first. If they like it, they'll send you their writers' guidelines.
This Old House
They commission all of their articles. But when I emailed for writers' guidelines, they did send me the
address for sending published clips.
Wildfowl Carving
General guidelines are
here; guidelines for pictorial demos are here.
Wood Carving Illustrated
Email photos and article/project outline to them first. If they like it, they'll send you their writers' guidelines.
Woodturning Design
Woodworker's Journal
The writers' guidelines they emailed me are
here.
