Markets for your articles about craft history and historical crafting techniques
Many of the markets in the craft-specific listings also publish articles about craft history and  historical techniques. Check each publication's guidelines for more details.
Magazines:
Dress
This is the journal of the Costume Society of America. They have guidelines and how-to-submit.
The Gilded Lily
This magazine needs articles about historical sewing techniques. There's a link at the top of the Guidelines page for a sample issue order form (cost--$9).
Good Old Days
History Magazine
The link takes you to a page that tells you to email them for writer's guidelines. Their email address is [email protected]. This Writer's Weekly
listing has more information. The January 2005 issue had a story about buttons; that's why I've included them.
Piecework
Smithsonian
This link takes you to their submission form for unsolicited manuscripts. You can click the link on this page to the Writer's Guidelines.
