PROJECT GUIDELINES: Country Marketplace features several step-by-step projects in each issue created by talented people just like you. Projects come from designers who are looking for an outlet for their creativity. If your project(s) is selected for publication, you will be compensated between $50–$300 depending upon difficulty, skill level, thoroughness of instructions supply lists and full-size pattern(s). Guidelines for submitting your project idea(s): 1. Project designers can only submit their own original ideas that have not been featured in other publications. 2. Send clear photos of each project with a label on the back of each photo with the following information: name, address, phone (day and evening), e-mail, title and brief description of project. 3. If you wish to have your photos returned, include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. 4. Mail photos to Amy Wiegman, Editor, 707 Kautz Rd., St. Charles, IL 60174. 5. Projects will be juried beginning 30 days after the deadline for each issue or project collection. (Example: April 2005 deadline is September 30, 2004; projects will be juried beginning October 29, 2004.) 6. For an editorial deadline list, please e-mail editorial assistant Amanda Young at ayoung@sampler.emmis.com. PROJECTS SELECTED FOR PUBLICATION: 1. If your project is selected as a finalist, you will be notified and asked to submit the completed project with concise, clear instructions, a complete supply list, full-size, detailed pattern(s) and appropriate diagrams (where applicable). 2. After receiving the complete project(s), Country Marketplace reserves the right to reject the project for publication. 3. If your project is selected for publication, you will be sent a release and waiver form listing the amount of payment for the project, which must be signed and returned. The release waiver is a contractual agreement between you and Country Marketplace, which gives Country Marketplace all publication rights to your project. 4. Projects selected for publication in Country Marketplace become the property of the magazine and will not be returned. 5. If your project(s) is not selected for the current issue, and we would like to consider it for a future issue, you will be notified and asked if we may consider it at a later date. 6. If you use a manufactured part (e.g., wood cutouts) from a particular company, please list the item number and the company’s name, phone number and Web site. 7. We may ask you to send in the project in varying stages of completion to be photographed for step-by-step instructions. 8. Your name will be published with your project. 9. Country Marketplace reserves the right to publish the project in a different issue than stated on your original contract. You will, however, be notified of any publication change. 10. Country Marketplace pays upon publication. S U B M I S S I O N G U I D E L I N E S 7 0 7 K a u t z R o a d • S t .
