| Multiple Intelligence is one of the world's most well known controversial theories of this century. According to scientist Multiple Intelligences is a group of different kinds of intelligences a person may have. They are broken down into various groups. Examples include logical, linguistic, spatial, musical, kinesthetic, and natural intelligences. A Harvard professor Howard Gardner developed the Multiple Intelligences theory (Armstrong). No evidence has backed up this theory but it still remains a theory to since 1983. The theory caused controversy because critics believe that Gardner based his studies on reasoning rather then empirical studies (Armstrong). Those who don't support the theory say that some of those intelligence's should be classified as talents. The theory itself has been criticized for decades by psychologist also. Thus the dispute of Multiple Intelligence has caused teachers at schools to be trained to cater to different learning intelligence's. A person interested in determining what their own intelligences may be used by taking a survey or a test. The reason multiple intelligence theory is important in school because it can help people find their best learning traits and help them find better ways to learn. Discovering your best abilities could be a huge advantage to a person success. Multiple Intelligence relation in school is that teachers use this theory to help learner decide their best way to succeed in both school and life. | |||||||||||||
| There are several different characteristics of multiple intelligences. One can learn their strongest innate characteristics by taking an assessment. After taking the assessment I recorded my scores to see if they were germane to my educational plans. My three highest were Music, Interpersonal, Kinaesthetic. I could consider myself interpersonal because I'm work well with others and am cooperative. My relation with being kinaesthetic smart is a new characteristic to me. I've never considered myself accurately body smart. The last intelligence I ranked a high score in was music smarts. This category was the highest one I scored on to. I could consider myself musical smart because I actually love music since I was young. I still currently listen to music daily. I use to play the piano and learned how to blend music with turntables. This intelligence is probably the most accurate one I knew I would have scored highest on. There are various intelligences included in the assessment. Other intelligences involved were visual, spatial, intrapersonal, naturalistic, linguistic, and logical. The test itself involved 8 different intelligences that were measured. | |||||||||||||
| The Multiple Intelligence theory is useful to me because it helped me discover my best characters of learning. Therefore; by understanding my best intelligence's I'm more aware of my advantages and it could help benefit on being successful in both college and life. One of my highest intelligence relates to my goal majoring in communications and becoming a disc jockey. I also found out my weakest characteristics of learning which was surprising. Before taking this assessment I would have considered myself intrapersonal. The assessment test could help shape a student's or persons plan for the future. If I could recommend anyone to take the multiple Intelligence assessment it would be high school seniors. This test could help a person on the way to reaching success. | |||||||||||||
