| Devination | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Devination is the ancient way of letting the Universe answer questions. There are several forms of devination, none particuraly better than another. Some are more popular and some are very easy. Here are a few froms of devination and how to work them. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Bible or Book Devination: Very easy form of devination, all you need is a book (the Bible is traditional but just about any book will do, except the phone book) and a question. Sit in a comfortable position, with the book in front of you. Clear your mind of everything but your question. Close your eyes and with the question fermly in place, flip through the book until you have a desire to stop. With your eyes still closed trace your finger over the page or pages you have sellected. When you feel ready, open your eyes and read the passage under or around your finger. Then meditate on what that passage means to your stiuation and your question. |

| Pendulum: A very old form a devination and easy as well. All you need is a plum (some sort of weight, a pendant will do) and a lenght of string, cord or chain. Some shops sell fancy pendulums with figures like Buddhas and Penticals and crystal plums but your every day necklace will work in a pinch. This workd best for "Yes and No" questions or "Hot and Cold" if you are working with a map or wagering choices. With the plum hanging down, grip the cord at a comfortable distance from the plum. "Will" the plum to stop, or you and run your free hand down the cord untill it stops swinging. In a clear, consise voice state, "Show me a 'Yes'", "Show me a 'Hot'", or "show me a 'Close'". Note how the pendulum swings and remember that direction. Stop the swing. Do the same for "No", "Cold", and/or "Far." If you are doing yes/no questions, ask for a "Maybe/Don't Know" answer from the pendulum as well. When you are comfortable with the responces you will get start asking your questions. |

| "Yes/No" Coin Oracle: Everyone has done this at one time or another, difficult questions, "True/False" test answers. Truly this is the layman's I-Chi. I recomend that you keep a special coin strickly for devination, and with this special coin, "Heads" is always one answer and "Tails" is always the other. Ask the question and flip the coin, it's that simple. |

| Egg Devination: Very simple and yet very effective. Fill a tall, straight glass with water. Hold a whole, unshelled egg in both hands and ask a "Yes/No" question. Crack the egg into the glass. If it floats the answer is "Yes", if it sinks, "No." |
