December 9th - Just received word that Emma & Leo's little boy, Atreyu, just passed a puppy   
temperment test (humane society) with a rating of "EXCELLENT".  Needless to say, we are all very proud of this wonderful boy!!!  Thank you, Bekki, for giving him an excellent home. :) 
November 5th - ASFA Region 6 Invitational, Kirklin, IN - Minnie was first in the Open stake and BOB  
while Whitey was second in Open.  Venus was first in the FCh stake and Corkey was second. Minnie and Corkey won the Pharaoh Hound Kennel Stake.  Venus and Whitey were the winners of the Pharaoh Hound Breeder Stake.  
October 30th - AKC lure coursing, NCC, Mt. Gilead, OH - Minnie was first in the Open stake for a  
4 pt major.  Whitey was 2nd in Open for 2 points, Venus was 3rd for 1 point and Athena came in 5th.  Minnie ran for BOB against a Special and won.  She then ran in BIF against an afghan,  a whippet and scottish deerhound -- and she WON!!!  This is Minnie's first BIF win, and the third of Athena's four kids to be a BIF winner.  
October 27th - Emma's little Blue girl left this morning for Fort Worth, Texas.  While we have yet to   
figure out what she wants her call name to be, her registered name is:  DesertPhoenix Emerald Butterfly.  She will eventually move to Costa Rica, where she will work on her International title.  And later, she will come back to us for a short time to earn her AKC bench champion title and do a little bit of coursing.  
October 23rd - Emma's only little boy left this morning for Gainesville, Florida.  He is being called 
called Atreyu, or Trey for short.  His registered name will be:  DesertPhoenix Emerald Warrior.  In addition to being a very spoiled little boy :) , Trey will eventually lure course, do obedience and agility, show, and be a therapy dog.    
October 9th - ASFA lure coursing, GCSC, Utica, OH - Venus was 1st in the Open stake, finishing her   
ASFA Field Champion title!!!  Minnie was 2nd in Open, earning her her first six points.  Corkey was 1st in the Field Champion stake and BOB.  
September 17th & 18th - AKC lure coursing, GCSC, Reynoldsburg, OH - Venus was 1st & BOB both   
days winning 1 and 2 pts (respectively) towards her FC title, and she is now a Senior Courser.  Minnie was 2nd both days.  Athena was 3rd on Sunday.  Whitey ran for and received both legs of his Junior Courser title.  
September 5th - Oakland County KC, Belleville, MI - Leo was BOB.  Venus was WB & BOS. 
Judge:  Shelley Hennessy.  
September 3rd & 4th - Livonia KC, Belleville, MI - Leo was BOB both days.  Venus was WB & BOS
on Saturday, while Minnie was WB & BOS on Sunday.  Judges:  Saturday - Garry Newton; Sunday - Betty-Anne Stenmark.   
July 19th - Emma gave birth to 5 healthy puppies:  4 girls and 1 boy.  It was a very quick and       
easy whelp, and all are doing well.  The "proud papa" is our boy, Leo (Ch. Sunwinds DesrtPhenx EZ Rider).  We are VERY happy with the quality of these pups.    
June 4th & 5th - ASFA International Invitational (lure coursing), Remington, VA -  Corkey 
finished 2nd in a very strong Open stake on Saturday, earning 18 points and completing his FCh title.  Venus finished 3rd in the Open stake (6 entries) and earned 12 more points towards her FCh title -- she now only needs 8 points to finish this title.
May 28th & 29th - AKC lure coursing, NCC, Ravenna, OH -  Minnie ran for and received both legs
of her Junior Courser title.
May 15th - ASFA Lure Coursing, MGA, Rockwood, MI - Corkey ran against a whippet and a
rhodesian ridgeback for Best in Field and won!!  This is Corkey's first BIF win which makes him the second of Athena's pups to be a BIF winner.
