It was a cool October morning. Maria had already gone to school, and Bijou was tying in her very favorite ribbons, the ones Hamtaro had given her for Valentine's Day. Actually, blue was her favorite color, but Hamtaro had gotten her yellow ones since he couldn't get any blues. That had been a week before she told Hamtaro she told him she
loved him, and they've been together ever since.
"Oh, Hamtaro! You are so sweet and caring; I cannot wait to see you today!" She finishes tying her ribbon in a bow, and gets out of her cage. She walks through her shortcut to the Ham-Ham clubhouse. When she arrives, Boss, Snoozer, Pashmina, Dexter, Maxwell, Sandy, Stan, and Hamtaro are already there.
"Hello Bijou! You look very pretty today!" Hamtaro says. Bijou blushes.
"Thank you, Hamtaro." Bijou and Hamtaro walk toward each other and hug. Boss turns a bit pink in the face, but turns back to his usual color.
"Hello, everyone!" Bijou says.
"Hi, Bijou!" everyone says.
"Hey, Bijou, Baby!" Stan says, then comes and kisses Bijou's hand.
"Hey! Back away from her!" Hamtaro yells angrily.
"Calm down, Hamtaro! He was just being polite." She giggles and hugs his arm.
"Sorry, Stan. I guess I got a little excited." Hamtaro said.
"Hey, no problem Hamtaro. Apology accepted." Hamtaro and Bijou hold paws as they walk over to talk with Pashmina, Sandy, Maxwell, Dexter, and Howdy. Boss looks red again, but Bijou knows he'll be alright, they've talked about that.
"Hello everyone, what is everybody talking about?" Bijou asks.
"Halloween is in two weeks!" Pashmina says excitedly.
"Halloween? I have never heard of this Halloween. Tell me about it."
"Halloween is this great holiday where everyone gets dressed up in a costume and gives each other candy!" Sandy says.
"Wow! It sounds so exciting!"
"Hey, I know! We could have a Halloween party!" Pashmina suggests.
"Me and Hamtaro could do decorations as usual, that is, if you don't mind, Hamtaro."
"That sounds fun. Sure, I'll do it."
"Why doesn't everyone just take the same jobs as they had on the ham-ham dance?" Pashmina suggests.
"Okay!" everyone says together in agreement.

Later after everyone has Gone Home~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Hi, Hamtaro, I'm home!" The telephone begins ringing as Laura finishes greeting Hamtaro. "I'll get it! She says as she begins running downstairs. Hamtaro listens to her speaking on the phone.
"Oh hi, Cara. How have you guys been over there?"
"What? Really?!?" Laura screams, unknown to Hamtaro, in joy.
"Heke?!? What's wrong, Laura?!? Are you hurt?!?" he says to himself. Laura comes upstairs a sits on the floor next to Hamtaro's cage after she hangs up.
"Oh, Laura! You had me so worried!" Hamtaro says.
"Guess what, Hamtaro! Cara, My friend from where we used to live, is moving here! And she's bringing your friend, Kiro!"
"Heke? Kiro, I'm afraid I don't know any Kiro, Laura." Laura goes to her dresser and pulls out a picture of a ham-ham who looks oddly familiar to Hamtaro.
"Oh, Kiro! Silly me, how could I have forgotten her? I can't wait to talk to her! I can bring her to the ham-ham clubhouse!" Hamtaro says excitedly.
"She's coming tomorrow, so you'll get to see her then! And I'll get to play with Cara!"

The Next Day~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Cara! You're here! Oh, my gosh!" Hamtaro hears Laura cry.
"Yeah, and I brought Kiro too!"
"Let's go put her in my room with Hamtaro, and then we can go out for pizza!"
"Okay!" They put her in Hamtaro's carrier and leave.
"Hi, Kiro!" Hamtaro says.
"Hi, Hamtaro!" they give each other a hug an talk for about five minuets when,
"...oh, yeah! I almost forgot! There are some people I'd like you to meet."
"Okay!" Hamtaro shows her the way to the ham-ham clubhouse.
"Hi, everyone! Guess what, I brought a new friend today! This is Kiro; we used to know each other where I used to live!"
"Hi, Kiro!" everyone says. Hamtaro walks over to Bijou.
"Schmubby Wubby. This is Bijou."
He points to the rest of the ham-hams as he tells her all there names, staying next to Bijou at all times.
"We're working on a Halloween party, would you like to help us, it's been a lot of fun so far!" Pashmina offers.
"Sure!" Kiro says excitedly.
"Well, the only things we need help on are decorations and watching Penelope." Pashmina says. Kiro really wanted to be with her friend, but she saw him holding paws with-what was her name?? Bandana? Birdie? Something like that. But anyway she saw them and decided to help--- Boss was his name? ---Boss watch Penelope.
"I... uhh.. will.. uhh, help watch Penelope; they already have two working on decorations."
"Alright. You don't mind, do you Boss?"
"Huh? Oh uhh, No I don't mind, the more the merrier, I always say." He had just been staring at Bijou and Hamtaro.

Later that Day While everyone was working~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Well, we're done with everything for today," Hamtaro says. "What should we do now?"
"Would you like to go on a walk with me, Hamtaro?" Bijou asks.
"Sure." They inform Pashmina where there going and Pashmina kind of gets this weird giggly look on her face then they leave.

After they leave~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Aww, isn't Penelope cute, Boss? Boss? Hello??? Earth to ham-ham?" Boss was watching Hamtaro and Bijou when he heard Kiro talking to him. Earth to ham-ham. Hadn't Hamtaro said that before to him?
"Yeah, cute." Boss turns to look at Kiro. She is looking at him. They catch each other's eyes for a few moments, when Kiro quickly looks away and blushes a lot.
"Umm, I'm going to take a break, okay?"
"Sure..." Somehow, someway, Boss thought that he might of, just might of, just gotten over Bijou as he watches Kiro walk out the door.

When Kiro gets outside~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kiro steps outside. She needed to talk to Hamtaro. She was pretty sure Bijou wouldn't mind clearing away for a bit so
he and she could talk. She walks toward them and then jumps behind a bush to hear what there saying.
"Why am I doing this? I don't need to spy on Hamtaro and Bijou. I mean, I'm sure Bijou and Hamtaro are just friends." Never the less, she peeks to see them through the bush. But what she saw hurt her, badly. She saw Hamtaro and Bijou kissing, just like when Hamtaro lived near her she'd always wished he would kiss her. She quietly runs back to the ham-ham club house, her heart heavy, and her eyes with a few tears. She wipes them, and thinks,
"He has a right to love someone else; he never really loved you back, just move on."
"Kiro?" she hears a voice call her. She looks up to see Boss standing over her.
"What's wrong?"
"I-I- I don't know where to begin," she says, sniffing, trying to stop crying.
"Come on, let's get you washed up and then you can tell all about it in my room." He smiles at her, and she smiles at him a bit, too, as he takes her paw, leading her to someplace in the tunnel. She feels warm in her heart and cheeks, kind of like she used to when she saw Hamtaro.

That Evening~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Hi, Hamtaro! Guess what, I'm going to go to a sleepover at Kana's tonight, and I volunteered to keep everyone's hamsters at my house! That means all of your friends will be staying over tonight, and mom and dad will feed you tonight!"
"Does that mean I'll get to see Bijou?" Hamtaro asks hopefully. Laura packs and leaves, and comes back with everyone's hamsters. Only Boss is missing.
"Wait!" Hamtaro realized. "Boss has no owner! As soon as Laura leaves, I'll invite him to my house!" Laura leaves, and everyone gets out of their carrier.
"Hi, everyone!" Hamtaro says cheerfully. "Looks like you guys are staying the night. I'm going to go invite Boss, who wants to come with me?" Bijou and Kiro raise their hand.
"Okay, let's go!" he leads the two girls down the pipe, landing on Brandy's head, and running to the club house.
"Bada Bada, Bada Bada."
"What is the hurry, Hamtaro?" Bijou asks, suddenly stopping, panting heavily.
"I don't know. I guess I should slow down though." He turns around, and walks to Bijou and takes her paw.
"Hey, Kiro! I've got another paw for you." He offers, and Bijou gets a bit red in the face from jealousy.
"Hamtaro! How could you be so inconsiderate?"
"Don't worry, Bijou. Me and Kiro are just friends. I really love you."
"Uhh, you guys go ahead, I'll be right with you in a moment."
"Alright" they both say and begin walking, paw-in-paw.
"Wasa wasa, wasa wasa. This is great. The two guys I might have had a chance with don't like me. She looks at Hamtaro. Then she recalls her discussion earlier with Boss after she had seen Hamtaro and Bijou kissing.

"So, why is it that you were crying?" Boss had asked her.
"Because, well, I, umm, well, I saw Bijou and Hamtaro kissing, and well, I, well, used to have a crush on him."
"Oh, I see. I used to like Bijou, too. But I've finally given up on her. She and Hamtaro were meant to be." That's when Kiro had thought that herself and BOSS were meant to be.
"But I think I've recovered, I love someone else now, but I don't know them very well." Then she knew she and Boss couldn't be together, he already loves someone else.

"Why me? I can never be loved by anyone, why?"
"What is wrong, Kiro?" Kiro looks up and sees Hamtaro and Bijou standing next to her. She just sighs.
"Hamtaro, I think I know what the problem is here, you go ahead."
"Alright, Bijou."
"So who is it?"
"What do you mean?"
"I can tell you are in love. I am here to help you. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
"Well, I used to like Hamtaro," Bijou gets a bit red in the face, "Don't worry, I found out you love him and I decided to back off. Actually, I kinda saw you kissing earlier today, and I ran to the clubhouse, crying the whole way." Bijou blushes tremendously.
"Sorry."
"Don't be, I know you two really love each other, and I am happy for you. It's just that, when I entered the tunnels, I stopped, and started crying. Then Boss came and took me to wash up." She told her the story of how Boss said he loved another ham-ham. Bijou starts giggling.
"Why are you giggling?!? It's not funny! STOP!"
"I am sorry, it is just that it is so wonderful for you, and it is strange to me you did not see it!"
"See what? What are you talking about, Bijou?"
"You see, when Boss was saying he'd moved on to someone else, he meant you."
"Me? No, I don't think so. Maybe you got confused. I mean, wouldn't he have said he loved me if he did?"
"Did you tell Hamtaro you liked him?"
"I hinted it.."
"Well, maybe it was a hint."
"Well, I guess maybe, but I don't really think so."
"Well, I guess we'll eventually find out." Bijou says, not wishing to argue with Kiro any longer.

Meanwhile~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Boss is sitting at the table.
"You know, Snoozer, I never thought I'd love anyone except Bijou. But then again, I never thought anyone like that angel Kiro would come along. Too bad she doesn't love me, I suspect Stan will get her before I can."
"Maybe she will get you before Stan can get her. I know it looks like she likes Hamtaro, but inside I think she really loves you. Zu zu zu."
"I hope your right, Snoozer."
A few more minuets pass before Hamtaro, Bijou, and Kiro enter.
"Hi Boss!" They all say at once.
"Uhh, hi. What are you guys doing here?"
"We've come to invite you stay at my house, everyone else is."
"Snoozer can come as well." Bijou added.
"I think I just stay here, thank you. Zu zu zu."
"What about you Boss?" Kiro asks.
"I don't know!"
"Pleeeeeaaaaaassssee?" Kiro pleads.
"Well, alright." They all leave and go back to Hamtaro's place.

Later after everyone is ready for bed~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Okay, Bijou, Kiro, me and umm, Boss can sleep in my carrier, Penelope, Pashmina, Howdy, and Dexter in another, Sandy, Stan, Maxwell, and Oxnard in one, Panda and Cappy in the last. Is that alright, everyone?" everyone nods and says yes in agreement. Bijou and Hamtaro slept in a corner together, and Kiro slept in one across from them. Kiro couldn't help but noticing though, that every time she looked at Boss, he had gotten a little to her.

Very early the Next Day~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Ookyoo, Ookyoo!" Penelope says, cheerfully. Everyone groans as they wake up.
"Good morning, everyone. Hamtaro says. Everyone but Boss and Kiro are awake. Kiro wakes up first, and screams, surprised to find Boss cuddled around her. "Maybe he really DOES like me.." Kiro thinks to himself. Boss wakes up right before Kiro had jumped up and started blushing. "Oh, uhh, sorry, I guess I was sleep-walking again. I do that from time to time." Bijou smiles at Kiro, but Kiro doesn't know why.  "Why did Bijou just smile at me? Didn't she hear what Boss just said? He walked in his sleep, that's all." She thought to herself.

One week and 5 days later~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kiro takes the blue bow out of her hair and ties a grey piece of yarn to her tail.
"Now I'll look just like a mouse. This is the greatest Halloween costume ever! Maybe Boss will like it." It had been a week and a day since she had moved here, and she already began to feel like she had known the ham-hams for ages. And she knew she loved Boss, for real. She had convinced herself that the friendliness and the stuttering Boss had around her might have been love, like Bijou had said it was. She had decided the night before that she would tell Boss how she felt, and hopefully he would feel the same way. Otherwise she would never be able to show her face at the clubhouse again. Well, maybe she would, but it might get kind of awkward.
"But it's worth it. Boss is worth it." She told herself.

Later at the ham-ham clubhouse~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Everyone was dressed in a costume. Hamtaro was a pirate, Howdy was a wizard, Dexter was an alien, Oxnard had covered his spots in mud and had let is harden so that he looked like a cow (and his star sign is Taurus, crummy joke on my part, I know), Maxwell was a 'bookworm' Sandy was a person from a show her human watched, Sailor Moon, Stan was Tuxedo Mask, Penelope wore a white sheet and was a ghost, Bijou was a lovely princess, Cappy was a jack-o-lantern, Panda was, well, a Panda, and no one knew quiet what Boss was… and Pashmina wore a crown, saying she was a queen. Everyone ate lots of Candy, and then finally came the time when Howdy put in his special Halloween Ham-Ham CD. Everyone paired up and danced, some ham-hams standing to the side. When a slow song came on, one that had been played at the ham-ham dance, every girl danced with a boy. Stan was about to ask Kiro, when Boss violently shoved him out of the way making room for him, and then asked Kiro to dance. While they were dancing, they looked into each other's eyes, like in the movies. When the song stopped, Kiro ask Boss to step into the hall with him.
"Boss, umm, what I uhh, came here to well uh, talk to you about is that ummm…."
"Yes?" "I like you a lot and Bijou told me you liked me and I thought no way but you've been so nice to me, thought maybe you did and if you don't I'm sorry for bothering you but I needed to tell you and ask you if you like me so umm do you or not?" "Heke? I couldn't hear a word you were saying, you were talking so fast."
"Sorry." Kiro says and blushes. She takes a deep breath and calmly tells him
"What I was trying to say was, I like you Boss, a lot. And I needed to know, Do you like me?"
"I like you, too, Kiro." "No, no! I mean, I like you," she begins to blush "as more than just "friends." He smiles, blushes a bit, and says, "I like you, too. As more, than just friends." She kisses his cheek, he takes her paw, and they walk back into the main room. Bijou looks at them and says nothing, except,
"I told you so." Then winks at her and continues dancing with Hamtaro.
