Background:

Thea grew up with a rather Bohemian lifestyle.  Taken from the orphanage at a very young age along with her brother, she grew up in the Florida Keys, spending her days in the sea and strolling the beaches and laid back streets of their island home.  Their adopting mother had been a well known college professor before putting her career on hold to have children and both Thea and her brother were always well ahead of their classmates in school thanks to the knowledge their mother fed into their lives on a daily basis.  School was therefore always more of a social event for Thea than any hard work.  There was never any question that both siblings would both go to college however and so when Morgan began his junior year of high school, their mother moved them all back to Boston to further that goal.
It would have been hard to find a greater culture shock within the same country and while Morgan drew into himself, Thea found her own way of coping by falling in with, if not the wrong crowd, certainly the rough one.  She learned the back streets and hidden neighborhoods of Boston like the back of her hand and in a few years she followed her brother to Boston University, a year ahead of her classmates.  It wasnt very surprising that both siblings ended up with art degrees.  Morgan with a double major in Photography and Journalism, and, a few years later, Thea with a major in Art History, and a minor in Art Psychology.  By the time she graduated, Morgans prints were beginning to be seen in shows around the world and he was starting to make a name for himself.  Unsure if she wanted to follow her mothers prodding and get a Masters in Art so that she could work at the museum of her choice or not, Thea decided to take a year off and backpacked around North America with a group of friends instead.
Her impromptu walkabout ended in Seattle where she caught a plane at her brothers invitation to fly out to Japan to see him.  His first stand alone art show was opening and he wanted her with him.  He didnt want her seeing the show however.  Thea did anyway.  What she saw shook her very badly.  So did what occurred between them after her brother had found out what shed done.  Thea caught an early flight back to Seattle without mentioning it to anyone and has been trying to put the pieces of her life back together before she gets home and has to face her mother.
