Background:

Born into an already crowded family in east London, Robin quickly got used to a loud and busy family life. The third child of a struggling couple, things weren't exactly luxury, and sometimes not even comfortable, but it was manageable. He was enrolled into his local primary school at five, a full school crowded with children in similar situations as Robin. As he grew older through school, he started to get into trouble, mostly for his energy and boisterous behaviour both in and out of the classroom. His father tried to discipline him, but only ended up falling for his son further at the energy that shone in his eyes...he couldn't bring himself to try and banish it.
Once in Secondary school, the boisterousness soon turned to fights with the other boys in the overcrowded school. He always managed to find himself in some kind of trouble, and the smallest of taunts or jeers could prompt him to take a swing at someone in return. So often in trouble, and not all that engaged in class, it was surprising to his teachers that his father managed to persuade him to keep on at school once he was 16. However, it wouldn't last long. He genuinely did give it a try, but at 17, he found it too boring to keep studying. Without even mentioning it to his parents, he made an impulsive decision, as was typical of him, and joined up with the army.
His father was pleased for him all the same, and Robin threw himself into the basic training. It was harder than anything he'd done before, but he had no doubts that it was also the greatest thing. He took to it like a duck to water, and it was no surprise to anyone that at the end of the basic training, he went on for full Infantry training rather than choosing a less physical specialisation. He was more than happy just being one of the lads rather than an officer, but was completely taken aback when he was given a place in the famous Duke of Wellington's Regiment based in Yorkshire once passing through training.
He has remained with the regiment his entire career, and never once thought of leaving, not even in the difficult times, and his training with Paras and Ghurkhas only invigorated him more. He's been posted to some harsh places over his time with the regiment, including Northern Ireland, where he was further trained in riot training and patrolling, Belize, Kosovo, has even covered Yorkshire during the fire service strike, and, more recently, served in Iraq.
Now, he holds the rank of Sergeant and still serves the Duke of Wellington's Regiment...he even finds time to play on the Duke's official Rugby team, as well as being an instructor in both fieldcraft and physical training.
