| Background: Born into a wealthy family, Jack was brought up in a large household where people would come and go often. His father an Earl, he had to get used to dealing with a busy and sometimes public life at an early age. He was educated separately from his older brother, Robert, and was always a quick learner, having learnt French, Latin and Italian before reaching his teens...in fact, his tutors were sure there were signs of the same brilliance that his older brother clearly held in some areas of study. A rivalry soon began to develop between the brothers, however, and it geared Jack onto learning more and faster, anything to better the older brother who, when Jack was 13, was launching his career within the government. |

| It was a year or two later that Jack’s mood swings and temper fits began to emerge; sick of being compared to his brother, and spurred by a violent and difficult home life with his father and others, he decided to be as different as possible, getting in fights, insulting many of his masters and turning his attentions to anything other than what they wanted. He soon discovered he could use his marks as a weapon, only agreeing to produce a good piece of work, which it was known he was more than capable of, or good marks in official exams if he got something he wanted in return, mostly false alibis to be able to sneak out of the place at night. | |||||||||||||||
| Jack had always wanted to join the navy, and at 16 he finally applied, only to be rejected on a medical basis. The news shattered Jack, and his moods only became worse at having to remain at home with his family for a further two years until he reached his eighteenth birthday. It became more and more likely that he would be pushed into following his brother’s footsteps, but taking up a role as a civil servant, essentially a glorified office job, was Jack’s idea of a worst nightmare. He moved out of home and got a flat in London, but still living off of his father’s fortune. Using the credit card that was automatically paid off from his father’s accounts, he decided to go travelling, anything to get away. He started with Europe, and oddly enough found travelling alone preferable to travelling with a companion. Finally deciding to go further, he picked Japan at random out of a brochure. It was on a flight to go to Seattle, his next destination on the list, that he went missing. | |||||||||||||||
| Personality: Jack is a very energetic young man. He can have a quick and violent temper with mood swings. When he gets frustrated or angry he very often lashes out at either the person or people causing it, or simply at his surroundings. He has a rebellious nature, and will say or do anything to shock or get a reaction without care. When Jack does lose it, he can end up trashing the room he’s occupying, smashing and breaking things in a temper. He craves any kind of attention and will do anything to get it, even if it’s negative, he thinks of it as at least he’s getting noticed. He often gets into fights, but once in it will just stand or lie there, encouraging the other person on to thrashing him without fighting back. Yet, he is a highly intelligent young man with a quick sense of humour, and although it is very rarely allowed to be seen by others, he does feel guilt and remorse about his actions even if on the outside he laughs, mocks, taunts and brags about them. However, glimpses can be caught of a more agreeable lad, a bright, almost innocent smile with honest, playful and pleasant behaviour when in a good and open mood and around people he likes. With people he considers friends, he would give anything for them and do anything for them. He can be fiercely loyal to those he deems as having earned his trust and friendship and will love them dearly. |
