Background:

Trenton Houser was born in a 3 bedroom tentament to Sean and Kia Houser, the oldest of 5 children.  Sean was killed in a car accident when Trenton was 11.Kia was 7 months pregnant with Danica at the time.  Trenton then became the man of the house and started working by shining boots and washing dishes in restaurants.  Trenton was in the high risk group to be a drop out but was discovered by a Preacher by the name of Joseph Parker. Joseph was able to keep Trenton on the right track and help him and his siblings get scholorships.
At age 17, Trenton decided he wanted to be a social worker and help children like himself.  He attended a community college and worked half time to continue helping his mother with his brother and sisters.  At the age of 19, Trenton began casually dating Veronica Peterson, and got her pregnant.  Trenton wanted to marry her, believing every child deserves a family. Veronica, who was white and 17,  parents refused to let her marry him, and told him to never contact there daughter again. This was Trentons first real look at racism and he was worried how this would affect his child if her grandparents did not like African Americans.  It was after this incident that Trenton became active in civil rights.  If he could not change the world for him, he would change the world for it for his daughter.
With his mothers support, Trenton went to court for visitation rights after his daughter was born.  He was granted every other weekend and equal summer vacations. Veronica's parents did not like this, and tried to block every visit. He has went back to court several times and managed to get visitations with out her grandparents dropping Jillian off. Trenton sends money every week, to support his daughter.  When Veronica went to Hollywood California to be a screen writer, Trenton moved to be near his daughter.
When Trenton was 24, his 15 year old brother Brendon was involved in a robbery and shot and killed by the shops owner. Trenton had seen this happen to young black men his entire lives and decided that he wanted to help other young african american's not make the same mistakes.  Trenton took the death of his brother hard because he had moved Brendon out of the projects and to California with him.  But as a social worker, he knew that he could make a difference, espically with his involvement with civil rights.  During the recent 2004 election, Trenton was out registerting young african american voters.
Trenton works for the CA state Child Welfare System. He loves his job, and keeps a constant eye out on his charges. Trenton was recently promoted to assistant director of his office, and has been going to schools and colleges across the country to promote being social workers.  Veronica got a writing job for a movie being filmed in Japan and Trenton was on his way back from visiting Kristina when his flight went missing.
