Background:

Nicole was born in Eagle Lake Maine, where she spent the first two years of her life, playing in the snow with her mom and dad. When she turned two though, her parents decided they needed a change of pace, so they moved from the small town to Seattle, full of hustle and bustle. The city life appealed to her father and he tended to like it a little too much. He came home one night and left in the middle of the night. They never saw him again.

Nikki, as her friends call her, grew up loving watching people and enjoying school a lot. Her teachers had a hard time ever getting her to go home, until her mother remarried when she was twelve. Gaining a brother and sister out of the deal, she found someone new to care about. Her stepsister was blind and almost automatically, she was protective of her new little sister. When she was 16, she finished high school and started at Washington State University so she could be close to home. She excelled in English and a love for teaching inspired her to become one. After she did her teacher study, she decided she wanted to stay in the area and teach instead of leaving the state.
She got her first job at 21 teaching English at a local high school and loved every minute of it. Her students did not mind her being so hyperactive and loving her job because they were well paid for it. She believed that rewards for good behavior worked better then punishment for bad. Therefore, they knew not to act up or there would not be something rewarding later in the class, like going outside and sitting in the park for a half hour to free write about anything they felt like.
Nikki decided she needed a new school after three years, and even though her students did not want her to leave, she decided to work across town in an inner city school. It was not the same as her other job though. Her beliefs about all students being good and wanting to help others came to the edge of a cliff after only a month of teaching there. After some deep soul searching and talking with Jada she decided to go back to her old school and let someone else deal with the problems of the inner city.

It was two years later Nikki decided to enter a Womans Weekly contest with a grand prize of a trip for two to Japan. She won and decided immediately to give it to her sister and her husband, but when Garret could not go, he insisted Jada go with her. They were on their way back from Japan when they went missing.
Personality:

Nicole is a very loving person, making her perfect for a teacher. She is very protective of her stepsister Jada.
