Background:

Christopher Wilde was born in Oxford, England, on the 7th of May, 1969. Both his parents were academic, and had high hopes for their only son. Christopher was a quick lad, but his interests didn’t involve mathematics and history. Instead, he liked acting and singing. From an early age he dreamt of going to the West End, but a realistic part of his mind knew he lacked the talent. So in addition to drama and singing lessons, he read a lot of different literature. His childhood was a simple one, with time alone and time playing with other kids, as well as helping his grandmother with her garden.

After finishing his A-levels, Christopher went to Queen Mary’s College in London, studying Dramatic Arts for a year before he hurt his back in a play. He spent a month in bed, before recovering enough to decide that acting wasn’t anything for him. Instead he decided to take psychology, because it was something that had always fascinated him.
He ended up not only taking a Master degree in it, but a PhD. At the age of 28 he worked with a man named Thomas Damon, seeing patients about anything from light anxiety to serious mental problems. It was in 1999 that he was asked to judge whether or not a Jason Perkins needed to be committed or not. Upon meeting Jason, he was faced with a 20 year old with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, but recognised that what Jason really needed was someone to depend on, and feel needed. Instead of agreeing with Jason’s psychiatrist, he suggested to Jason and his mother that Jason moved in with him while he studied, because he might be able to help.

The next three years went too fast for Christopher. He found himself enjoying the meals with Jason, the discussions of literature once the younger man became more confident in his own opinion. Some nights, he would wake to Jason’s screams, and run into his room to hold him the rest of the night. But it was something that didn’t bother Christopher, and after a while they stopped bothering Jason. Perhaps it was natural that it was only a matter of time before Christopher fell in love with the younger man. He was surprised when he discovered that Jason returned his affections.
Not surprisingly, they felt the need to move. Many would frown upon their relationship, most notably Jason’s mother. She never really accepted it, but she was remarried by then with an adoptive daughter called Julianne. Christopher and Jason settled in Greenlaw, Scotland, where Christopher opened a small practice. Jason helped out with keeping the house tidy, as well as writing essays that he published, usually on Victorian literature because it interested both of them. He also edited Christopher’s novels, even if none of them have been sent in yet.

Christopher and Jason were on their way to Seattle after a two-week vacation in Japan when they went missing.
Special notes:

Christopher has to read a book from start to finish. If he is interrupted, he has to start at page one again…even if he only had three lines left.
