Background: Ashleigh was born after an affair that her mother had with Nat Walker, a storm chaser.  For the first four years of her life, Ashleigh was raised as Erlin Phillips daughter. She could always feel the tension in the air and wasn't treated the same as her brothers Adam and Alexander.  When she was three, a man named Nat Walker showed up. She felt an instant bond with the man and would notice that her mother and Nat and her father would always fight.  Erlin asked Nat to leave, but he refused without his daughter.  Ashleigh or "Storm" as her mother nicknamed her, over heard this comment and understood why her father treated her differently.  There was a court battle between Kristina and Erlin against Nat, and the Phillips won, with summer vacations with Nat.  Storm would look forward to summer vacations and spending time with Nat, the happiest times of her life. Erlin never gave her the same attention he did his sons, and her mother was always writing.

At age 5, Kristina placed Storm in a childs modeling agency.  Storm was an instant hit getting commercials and print adds.  When her mother discovered the talent her daughter had, she pressed for more auditions and more commercials.  Storm was working constantly and by the age of 8, she had missed summer vacations with her father. It was the first of 4 summers she would not see her father.  Though she enjoyed modeling because it got her out of the house and she went on trips, she did miss her father.

At age 15, Storm began showing signs of bulemia and could not put up with the schedule she was working. She barley had time for school, or real friends. Storm became very with drawn during this year and refused to do photo shoots wanting to be alone away from everyone.  When Nat saw her at 15,  he noticed the change and insisted that Kris got her the help she needed. When Kris refused, Nat took the Phillips back to court and this time won full custody.  Storm went to Japan with her mother, when her mother ran from the custody order.  Storm managed to call Nat a year and half later, and Nat came and got her from Japan. She was on her way to Seattle to a clinic for eating disorders with her father and younger brother when she disapeared.
