My Photos and Drawings

NEW!!! 2/24/01

Well, here are the photos I took of the Phoenix Zoo coyotes back in Jan.'99. They are captives, but you'd be suprised how difficult it can be to get a good photo of even a captive coyote (especially ones like these that have plenty of hiding places)! It was overcast and during mating season- a great combination, so these two were really on the move that day, exhibiting all kinds of behavior I'd never seen coyotes do (though- no, that THAT kind of behavior...:))

First of all, a present from me to all coyote fans out there. A coyote collage of some of my fav photos, OR, "Fun with Photoshop" :)

What's more indicative of the Arizona desert? A coyote standing next to a saguaro! (Maybe she's watching a roadrunner...:))

I really like this pic- a moment of affection between the two coyotes.

Another "Awwww...." picture. You don't see a lot of photos like these but coyotes can be as affectionate as any dog.

Coyotes on the run!

Howling coyotes!

Howling coyote.

Are they getting bored now?

I may add more later on, or perhaps I'll sprinkle them about the site in general...we'll see.

Older Photos and Art

An in-the-field sketch of a burrowing owl I observed one spring.

The first coyote I ever called in to the camera- Arizona Jan '97.

More of the AZ coyote.

Yet another photo of the AZ coyote!

Here's the handsome coyote I called within 25 yards near Phoenix, Arizona in January '98. (Used to be on the main page.)

Another pic of the Phoenix coyote.

A larger image of the cactus wren photo on the main index page.

This doe mule deer at the South rim of the Grand Canyon looks depressed. Actually, she was a great subject. She kept posing for me- something coyotes never do!

Nice photo of intense-looking Yosemite Nat. Park coyote- I wish it were sharper, however.

The "bluejay" of the desert: a great-tailed grackle! (A female)

Here's the glossy, jet-black male.

Another male grackle. Pretty bird!

I'm all ears! I like this photo I took of a black-tailed jackrabbit. It came straight in to my predator call and stared at me until I snapped a photo.(Jan. '99)

This is just as the jack's turning around to go "flying" away.

A photo of a Verdin, a neat little bird of the desert, as it constructed its nest.

Some quick sketches I made of a desert cottontail grooming itself.

Not exactly native wildlife: a white peacock from the Phoenix zoo.

Some sketches I did of the coyotes at Yosemite National Park.

Photos from the Web

Running bobcat photo (small).

Beautiful bobcat in snow (large image).

Beautiful sunset-type photo of a mountain lion.

A large muley buck.

A small photo of coyote pups.

Really nice close-up of a coyote looking up while it snows.

A small photo of a crouching gray fox.

A nice photo of a red fox during sunrise or sunset.

A beautiful winter picture of a coyote.

Full of himself/herself photo of a dirt-scratching coyote.
