Karol loaded the seven baby chicks in her truck and turned to Mr. Tims,"Don't worry Mr Tims I'll have the test results back in a few days. In the mean time just make sure all the chickens get that medicine and I'll keep my eyes on these little guys."

He held out his hand "Thanks Dr Mason."

She smiled and shook his hand. "Please call me Karol."

They bid each other goodbye and Karol headed back to the clinic.

She walked into the backroom and answered the phone."Mason?"

"Karol its Josiah." came the voice over the phone.

She smiled,"Hey I was just going to call you.I can't make dinner tonight. Mr Tims' chickens have come down with something and I have to watch his chicks for a few days to make sure they are alright too."

"That works out too.I called to let you know I forgot I was going to be working an extra shift tonight."

"Well alright I guess we both take a rainchecks."

"My next day off we'll go to Ajo and spend the day."

"Oh that sounds great."Karol twirled the phone between her fingers then walking over and checking on the chicks every once in awhile."I better go these little guys are getting hungry."

"I'll see you later then. I love you."

"I love you too, bye." She went to hang up the phone to find out she twisted herself in the phone cord. She removed herself from the cord then looked at the clock.Ridley went home about a hour ago, now all she had to do was head home herself. She got the things she needed for the baby chicks and gathering them up again headed to her truck.

She walked into the appartment and looked around.It seemed too quiet Trina hadn't come from her room since her attack and she was worried about her. She set the chicks on the floor and pushed them under the coffee table knowing Filli could be lurking somewhere but she knew he would be with Trina. She turned back to the door. She had promised Buck while he was gone that she would look after Ding and Bat until he returned, she hoped Drew was with him when he did.

She grabbed their appartment keys and headed over. Once inside she called them. Bat came running around the corner and was attacked by Ding who was waiting on top of the chair. Karol laughed as she went over and picked up the fighting duo.

"Now you two need to behave." Bat meowed up at her while Ding tried to still playfully attack him.

She carried them back over to the appartment and let them go. They ran off and the sounds of play could be heard under the couch. Karol shook her head and went down the hall to her room changing into a comfortable sweat pants and t-shirt.

Trina woke up and looked around, something had awaken her but she couldn't tell what. Ezra sat beside her bed in the rocker asleep. She glanced at the door and heard laughter coming from the living room. She slowly got up and went to the door. She looked back at Ezra uneasily and stepped out. The sound reassuring her that everything was alright.

She got to the end of the hall and looked into the living room.Karol sat on the floor, seven yellow fluffy balls making chriping noises surrounded her. Filli and Bat sat on the table watching them with interest while Ding attempted to catch one, only to have it chase after him. She made her way over smiling at the scene.

Karol looked up from putting the chicks back in the box hearing someone coming from the hall. Thinking it was Ezra she smiled in pleased surprised to see Trina. "Trina. How are you feeling? I'm sorry if I woke you."

Trina shook her head "That's alright." She looked inside the box.

Karol noticed her look."These are Mr Tims' chicks. Something is wrong with his chickens, they took sick for some reason. I'm watching the chicks to make sure they don't get sick too."

Trina nodded and sat on the couch. Karol handed her a baby chick and sat on the couch beside her."I even named them all. The one you got is Vin"She bent over and picked up another handing it to her."This one is Ezra because it likes to clean himself all the time."She grinned.

Trina returned the grin and took the chick named Ezra."One of the chicks was trying to intemidate Ding so he is Chris, theres even a runt and thats JD, then there is Nathan Buck and Josiah." She lifted the one called Josiah and cuddled him. "He's slightly bigger then the others. "She looked at Trina and chuckled,"I'm talking too much aren't I?"

Trina shook her head "Its alright."

"Well then I was going to make some tea would you like some?"Karol asked standing.

Trina nodded."Yes, please."

"Be right back." She turned and headed into the kitchen.

Ezra woke and looked to the bed. He quickly stood up and looked around seeing the room empty.He noticed the door opened and walked into the hall to hear laughter coming from the living room.

He walked down the hall and saw Trina and Karol playing with baby chicks. Trina smiled but still had the scared look in her eyes. He walked up to them."Hello ladies what do we have here?"They both looked up.He reached down and petted the little chick in Trina's hand.

"I have to watch them for a few days and make sure they don't get sick. Why don't you sit and I'll make us dinner."

Ezra stopped her before she could leave."How about we order from The Grill?"

Both girls nodded in agreement. Ezra went to the phone and placed an order while Trina and Karol talked about what movie to watch.
