The night was filled with the sounds of screeching tires. Buck sat up straight in his car and watched as a small car came flying down the street with no headlights. He quietly grabbed his CB. "Ezra we have some joyriders they are going south down Main Street, I might need a little help."

"I copy Buck, be there in two mintues."Ezra kicked his car into gear and sped off to help Buck.

Buck followed the car until it turned off into an alley beside the veterninarian office.Before he could radio in to Ezra there was the sound of a loud crash. Buck pulled up and shined his headlights into the alley. There he saw three boys stumble from the car which had hit, Buck saw, was Karol's van. "Alright you two put your hands up your under arrest."

Two of the boys looked at him and quickly made their way around the van and down the alley.The third, the driver, held his bleeding head.Buck walked up to him "Here son sit down." Buck led him to a crate against the wall.Ezra appeared beside him.

Karol was rudly awaken by the sound of screeching tires. She sat up and moved to the door, before she could open it, a force slammed her against the wall of the van. Her vision blurred and her head ached, she held her head stunned and heard voices outside but was too confused to do much of anything.

Ezra looked at the damage to Karol's van"I suppose we should give her a call and let her know what has happened?"

Buck nodded."I'll radio Josiah at the station and let him call her."When Ezra nodded Buck jogged back to his patrol car."Hey Josiah you there?"

"I'm here Buck what's up? Having some trouble with those joyrider's?" came Josiah's voice.

"We got one of them, we know who other two are. I need you to call Karol and let her know that her van got wreaked."

There was silence on the other end. Buck frowned."Josiah you there?"

"Yes I am, but......I don't know her number."

"You've been going out with the girl for awhile and you still don't know her number?"The sound of Ezra shouting brought Buck's attention to the alley. He saw Ezra supporting an obviously hurt Karol."Josiah I need you to call Kenin and tell her to get to her office.Karol is here and looks like she got hurt."He didn't wait to hear Josiah's response as he put away his radio and went over to them.

Karol tried waving Ezra away "I'm fine Ezra really just a bit dizzy is all."

"I'm afraid almost falling from your van and hitting your head agian is not alright."

Buck steps up."Where did she come from?"

"She was obvisously in the van."

At the mention of her van Karol's eyes snaped to the wreak."Oh thats just great." She stood quickly and regreted it as her head swam. Ezra helped her sit back down.

"You sit there until we're ready to take you to see Kenin." Ezra said.

"Oh no.Just give me something for this headache and I'll be fine."

"Buck why don't you take the boy to the station.I'll take Karol to Kenin's and I'm sure Josiah will want to be there with her."

Twenty minutes later Karol found herself laying on a bed in the clinic.She looked up as the door opened and Josiah came inside."Karol are you alright?" He came over and looked at the neatly stitched wound.

"I'm ok Josiah, Kenin said I knocked my head good fashion and that I'm going to have quite a headache in the morning."She laid her head back and closed her eyes.

Josiah relaxed knowing that she would be alright."What is this I here about you living out of your van?"

"You talked to Ezra huh."She opened one eye to look at him.

He nodded."Yes I did.Why didn't you tell me you didn't have a place to stay?"

"I can't afford a place right now. All my money has to go to the vet clinic.As soon as its up and running better I'll find a place."

"Where will you go until then?"

She grimsed as the memory of a car smashed into her van came to mind.

Josiah nodded."Thats what I thought." Before he could say more Kenin walked in.

"Oh Josiah good your here."

"Does this mean I can go?" Karol asked hopfull.

"Only if I know your going somewhere where someone can watch you.You shouldn't be alone tonight or tomorrow not with that concussion you recieved."

Josiah looked to Karol"You can stay at my place. I can take the couch."

"No Josiah I'm not going to take your bed from you."

"Perhaps I could be of service?"They looked to the door to see Ezra standing there.

"How can you help Ezra?" Josiah asked.

"Well as it seems Karol needs a place to stay.Trina needs a roommate. After all she has that big appartment all to herself now that Drew is married."

Karol thought about this."I don't want to disturb her at this time of night."

"She will be glad to help."Ezra reassured her.

Kenin looked to her."Its either Trina's or Josiah's?"

"May I have a word alone with Karol?"Ezra asked stepping into the room.

Josiah and Kenin stepped out. Ezra turned to Karol. "It would please me very much if you were to stay with Trina.It seems she is starting to sleepwalk."

"Sleepwalk is she alright?"

"Oh yes she is. But it would make me feel better if someone was there with her at night, just in case."

She nodded."Alright I will."

Ezra nodded and turned to leave the room to place the call to Trina. Josiah and Kenin came back in.

"I'm going to stay with Trina." Karol said.

Kenin nodded."Good.You can leave but I want to see you back here in a few days."

Karol nodded,"Thanks Kenin."

She smiled. "Your welcome."She turned and left the room.

"When your feeling up to it we need to have a long talk."

"I'm sorry I lied to you Josiah."She slowly sat up.

"Don't worry about it.I'm just glad you weren't hurt worst."He helped her to her feet and out into the waiting room where they met up with Ezra.

"Trina will be waiting for you when you get there."

"Thank you Ezra."

"Think nothing of it she is happy to have you stay with her."

They then said their good byes and Josiah drove Karol to the Oasis Apartments.

Trina was there waiting for them as soon as they got there.Trina huged her tight."Karol Ezra told me what happened. Are you alright?"

"Nothing a few days rest won't cure."She gave her a tired smile.

"Please come in and sit down." Trina ushered her inside. She smiled to Josiah to let him know she had it from here.

"I really appreciate you letting me stay here."

Trina smiled."I'm glad to have you here. You should have told me you had no where to stay. You were always welcomed here."

"I didn't want to be a bother. Right now all my money is tied up to keeping the vet clinic up and running."

The sounds of a tea kittle interrupted them."I will be right back."She hurried to the kitchen.A few mintues later Trina came back to the living room with a tray and found Karol curled up asleep on the couch.She smiled put the tray down and got a blanket from the closet and covered her with it. Then then put the tray up and headed up to bed.
