Alia: Okay people I'm working on another fic. Forgive the title. I just couldn't pick a good one.
Wufei: Figures. Crazy woman.
Alia: See that's why you're barely in this one.
Duo: Well who has parts in this one?
Alia: I'm not sure right now.
Relena: Hey what's it about?
Alia: Well as of late I've been reading stories with Relena having kids. Either they're hers naturally or adopted. I just got the idea for this one. That and my mom just had a baby.
Duo: Are you turning us into kids again? Alia: Not exactly.

Disclaimers: I don't own GW and the characters. It's kinda angsty, well not really. No real warnings. Maybe some language. Well now that that's over...

The Threes

byAlia

Relena shook her head while she picked an apple out of the refrigerator. /Why Heero? Why did you break up with me? / Relena shook herself out of her selfish thoughts.

Hilde had a huge argument with Duo a couple of weeks ago and she was really upset about it. Since it happened she has been laying around. Relena walked into the library and gave Hilde the apple. "Hilde I know how you feel. I was devastated when Heero and I broke up." Hilde bit out of the green apple.

"You know Relena you never told me what happened between you two." Relena sighed heavily.

"He came up to me one day telling me that we should break up. He said something about us having problems in our relationships. So since I didn't want to be a big baby I agreed with him. I should have done otherwise."

"Guess we all have problems."

"What about Alia and Trowa? They are still together." As if on cue the front door slammed shaking the house.

"Uh oh." Hilde and Relena went to the doorway of the library just in time to see Alia fly up the staircase. Hilde grabbed Relena's hand.

"We should go check on her." As Relena opened Alia's bedroom door, she heard music. The two girls walked in to see Alia sitting on the bed moving her head to the music. Hilde noticed how pained her eyes were. "Alia?" She looked up at her friend.

"Hey." Relena sat on the bed in front of her. "What's wrong?" Alia put on a pitiful smile.

"Other than the fact that Trowa is cheating on me, my new CD is scratched." She mumbled sarcastically. Hilde didn't move. "Trowa! Cheating! No way!"

"Yes way. I went to see him at the circus. He was kissing some bleached blonde."

Relena sighed. "Is it just me or have we not picked the worst guys to have in our lives?" Hilde and Alia nodded.

"Can we go some where to forget the woes of our lives? To the park maybe." Relena and Hilde agreed. Three little boys about the ages of five ran together down the busy street. One had green eyes and a long braid. Another had dark unruly hair with violet eyes and the last had short hair that covered one of his blue eyes. The one with blue eyes cried, "This way!" His small companions following him. The police were chasing the three boys because they were stealing.

They dashed into a nearby alley. "You think they wouldn't mind us just taking some money. We're starving!" yelled the violet eyed one.

Green eyes spoke up. "You know how strict the law is here." Blue eyes once again spoke up.

"They are gone. Lets go." The three walked until they came up to the park. They sat down on a bench beside an old homeless man drawing. The one with blue eyes spoke up.

"You know we wouldn't have to live like this if we had parents." The one with violet eyes said, "We have mothers. We just don't know who they are." He paused before saying, "But at least we know what they're like." The other two five year olds stared at him.

"I mean think about it. They are our mothers so they are pretty much like us." Silence claimed them until green eyes said, "I guess you could be right." The old man beside their conversation.

"Hey. Why don't I help you boys."

"What do you mean?" asked blue eyes.

"I have a great talent with drawings. Why don't you tell me what your mothers look like?" The violet eyed boy grew excited.

"Oh yes. Here start with me. She's very pretty. She has dark eyes and short black hair. She is nice too. She's brave and does whatever possible for her loved ones."

The old man handed him a drawing. The boy with the drawing nudged the child with green eyes. He sighed and spoke to the old man.

"She has long black hair and brown eyes. She's very sincere. Strong and brave, she's not afraid of anything. She's a fighter too." Blue eyes, who looked skeptical, gave in and said, "She has long blonde hair and blue eyes. She is kind and honest. She fights for her beliefs and puts others before herself."

The old stranger handed the boys their drawings.

"Here you are. Keep those. Maybe you'll find your mothers someday."

"Thanks mister." Once again the trio made their way down the sidewalk. After a while a shout of

"There they are!" exploded out of the crowds. Two police officers and a man in a suit came after them. "Run!" The boys found themselves running to a certain part of the park.

Relena leaned back against the tree she was sitting under and glanced at her friends. Alia was reading an adventure book and Hilde was trying to stop her laughing about the passage she just read. Then she heard it.

"MAMA!"

Blue eyes looked around for a place to hide when he saw her. She was leaning against a tree with two other women. He pulled out his drawing.

"Look! It's her! It's her!" His companions let their eyes follow his vision. They snatched out their drawings as well. Green eyes stood in shock.

But Violet eyes got so excited he couldn't help himself. "MAMA!" With the three men closing in they ran to the women.

"What was that?" asked Alia after hearing the cry. "Over there." Hilde pointed by the picnic tables. Three little boys about five years old were running over to them. Seeing one of them was charging toward her, Relena instinctively opened her arms to him.

"Mama!" He cried as he reached her.

"Mama they're gonna get us." Violet eyes was hugging Hilde tightly with no intention of letting go. "It's okay. It's all right." Alia stroked green eyes' long hair.

"Excuse me ladies." Hilde looked up to see a police officer.

"Yes?" "These young boys were found stealing from the local grocery store. We have to take them to the juvenile hall. Thank you for catching them."

The boys began to cry. As one of the officers bent down to take away the child with blue eyes Relena moved away.

"What makes you think that I'll let you take my son?" Alia and Hilde stared for a moment then realized what their friend was trying to do. Relena continued. Looking down at the child she said, "Michael would never do something like that."

/Michael. Is that my name? /

"And neither would Gabriel." Snapped Alia.

"Or David." Said Hilde.

Alia eyed the men. "Are you insinuating that we don't know how to raise our own children?" The men were dumbfounded. Hilde did everything possible to hide her smile. Alia was the best liar.

"They're your children?"

"Yes." Hilde replied. Relena stood with the child in her arms. "If you men have finally stopped accusing our sons, we'll leave."

They quickly left with the children. As they exited the park Hilde said, "Hey you three. Where are your mothers?"

David laughed. "Why you are." Hilde looked bewildered until Michael pulled out a drawing.

"See. Look." The drawings looked just like the girls. "Wow!" exclaimed Relena.

"Mama can we go home?" He asked. The girls knew they were adopted. " I.." Relena didn't know what to say.

"Yes lets go." Before Hilde and Relena could reply, Alia was walking home with Gabriel. "They're asleep. Poor guys." Hilde whispered.

The kids fell asleep on the way home. They took them upstairs and cleaned them up. Then they put clean shirts on them and put them to sleep. In the living room, Hilde asked, "Alia why did you tell him you were his mother?"

Alia answered simply. "Because I'm going to keep him. Don't give me that look. I need him now that I don't have Trowa and he needs me. You can't tell me you don't feel the same." Relena nodded.

Hilde said, "Well ever since they've been here I've felt better. Maybe it's for the best." Relena stood to leave.

"Where are you going?" asked Alia. "To fix dinner. I don't want my son starving to death." Hilde laughed. Gabriel was the first to wake up. "Where are we?" He woke up David and Michael. Michael glanced around the room.

"Wow!" The room was covered with elegance. David jumped off the bed. "Come on. Let's go find our moms." The boys tiptoed down the stairs to the kitchen.

"Hilde take that baked chicken out. When I finish this soup go wake the boys." Alia stirred the pot. "Sure. Relena's setting the table." She felt something tug her shirt.

"Mommy I'm hungry." Hilde picked up David and kissed him. "Okay okay. Come on Michael I'll rake you to Relena."

As Hilde walked into the dining room, KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK. "I'll get it!" Alia ran to the front door, her son at her feet. "Hold on. Who is it?"

"It's us, Dorothy, Sally, and Noin." Alia opened the door. "Hi. I forgot you three were coming." Sally looked down at Gabriel.

"Hey Alia who's the kid?" She laughed. "This is my son Gabriel." They were shocked. Dorothy found her voice.

"He's your son? How? When did you and Trowa have a child?" Alia sighed. "Trowa and I aren't together anymore. Gabriel go into the dining room and eat sweetheart."

He left. "Well he's as quiet as Trowa." Giggled Noin.

"Noin please."

"Alia what happened?"

"Come eat and I'll tell you." As they ate Alia told them about Trowa and the girl.

"Are you serious? He cheated on you?" shouted Sally. "Yup." Said Alia in a 'I don't care' fashion. "Who'd a thought huh?" Relena put more soup in Michael's bowl. Noin pointed at herself.

"Well I wouldn't have. But it does seem as if these three have taken their places."

Hilde nodded saying, "Yeah and I don't think they'll leave us, right David?"

"Yeah!"
