In the Mood for Love

Part 2

Quatre was sitting on the bed adjusting his pants. His wife was all ready up hustling and bustling about the trip she was going to make. Her bag covering half her body.

"How long will you be going?" asked Quatre gently as he got up and took his briefcase.

"About 2 to 4 weeks. I've got some buisness to do in Japan." She replied.

Quatre quickly walked out the door feeling around for his tie putting it back into place. He looked back towards the door thoughtfully. The common radio was playing the Hong Kong morning news blaring out the usually daily doses of gossip rather then news.

"Remember when you come to bring back two of those handbags you bought." Added Quatre as he leaned on the doorway.

"Why? You don't need them. I do." she asked enquiringly.

"They're for my boss You know why" explained Quatre his face giving out an exasperated look.

"Different colours?"

"The same will do Who cares?"

He walked back into the door, gave his wife a kiss and walked out of the building to go to work.

The dreary files gave a placid look to the office. The walls themselves were green and so were the window binds. The afternoon sun was shinning into the little office, shinning onto the piles or papers located all over. Quatre walked into his office expecting his boss Mr. Ho to be there. His boss was still not around even though it was all ready 3 p.m. Time so flew by and the telephone suddenly rang.

"Yes?"

"I'm sorry. Mr. Ho is not around. He is in a meeting"

"He'll be home late so he asked me to tell you to eat first."

"Thank You, Good bye."

Quatre clicked down the receiver and looked at the time. It was 5. His boss should have been back from that meeting.

"Did you call my wife?" a man's voice suddenly asked behind him.

"Yes I did."

"OK, did you booked the restaurant?"

"I did, 8 o'clock reservation at Green Hill restaurant, a table for two. Ms. Yu called to say she's coming. Remember there's a board meeting tomorrow." Quatre said while scribbling something into his notebook, which he carried everywhere he went.

"You should go for tomorrow's meeting. I treat you more like a secretary then a business associate." Chuckled his boss as he took his coat from the reclining chair.

"Yeah, but you pay me as a business associate." Joked back Quatre as he took out some files from the cupboard and sat at his desk. His boss gave a nod of thank you and a look of understanding. Quatre continued to smile and chuckled a bit while shaking his head as he typed out some things with his typewriter. The sound of typewriters and telephones continued to echo and bounce off the walls of the modern day office while his boss continued to walk down the stairs and out to his car.
