WuFei was walking through the woods to get to the lake that was behind
their current safe house.
Something was bothering him. The night before last he looked at the
lake from his bedroom window. He saw some kind of angel or winged goddess
sitting on a rock in the middle of the body of water. When he told his
comrades about his 'sighting' they just laughed and told him that he'd
been around Duo too long, but he knew what he saw and he was going to prove
it.
He stepped onto the sandy beach and sure enough there was the mysterious
person. This person was female and didn't look too much older than himself.
The girl had short brown hair that was styled like Noin's, she was wearing
a long blue garment and from her thighs down to the end of the garment
the sides were missing. Other than her more or less revealing attire, she
was wearing black knee-high boots and two armlets, but the thing that
caught the salutary dragon's eye were her wings. She had two angel
wings, but the one on the right was black and the other was pure white.
He was in awe over the sight of this person in the middle of the lake with
moon's light shinning to make a wondrous reflection in the water. 'What
beauty' he thought.
The girl looked up at the moon, 'Am I good or evil? Am I light, light
as day or dark, dark as the night?" She turned her gaze to the beach. Her
visible blue eye caught sight of the Chinese pilot. She stood on the rock
and glided onto the beach.
WuFei walked up to her, "Excuse me? If you don't mind me asking, who
or what are you?" he asked cautiously, afraid she might attack.
"My name is Celes Kaze. I'm a sorceress without a purpose, until my
fate has been decided."
"What do you mean by 'until my fate has been decided'?"
She sighed and lowered her head, "My wings represent the light and darkness,
the good and evil. Depending on which side wins the war is the side I'll
end up with. Either way my existence is meaningless because I'll become
nothing more than a puppet."
The Chinese boy put a hand under Celes' chin and lifted her head, "Who's
the light and who's the darkness?"
She looked into his eyes, "I don't know who the light is, but the darkness
is the Romefeller Foundation and OZ."
'Then the light must be me and the other pilots' he thought. "Celes,
let me help you. I think I have figured out who the light is and if I'm
right you definitely will become part of the light side. Then you'll know
that your comment about being a puppet was unjust. Will you except my assistance?"
