WuFei sat upright in his bed. He stretched for a moment before getting
up and hopping into the shower. He got out about ten minutes later, got
dressed and slowly walked toward the kitchen, 'Every day it's the same
thing. I get up, take a shower, eat breakfast, go through the rest of the
day which is usually non-eventful, go up to my room, look at the lake from
my window, go to bed and have some bizarre dream with some winged female
sitting in the middle of the same lake that's behind the house. It's the
same damn thing.'
He sat down with his comrades and ate breakfast. Time moved slowly from
then on. There were no missions for the time being. Until night fell, Quatre
and Trowa were curled up together on the beach, watching the water brush
onto the sand. Heero was waiting for a new mission and Duo was watching
TV and when he wasn't doing that he was raiding the fridge.
WuFei was in his room. He looked at the clock on the nightstand, 11:30
it read. 'Time for my nightly ritual of looking at the lake.' He thought.
Normally he looked at the moon's reflection, but tonight he was looking
at a person or a thing in the middle of the water.
"It can't be" he rubbed his eyes, "I'm not hallucinating, there is someone
there." He yawned, "But I'll go meet this person in the morning." He laid
on his bed and fell to sleep, only to be greeted with the same dream.
The next morning, the Chinese pilot arose from his bed and looked out
the window, 'It's gone' he thought. He walked into the kitchen and sat
at the table.
"Is something troubling you, WuFei?" The Arabian boy asked, he had always
been the most caring.
"Well" he sighed, "I keep having this dream where I meet this girl with
angel wings, but it always ends before I can get her name and last night
I could have sworn I saw her in the middle of the lake."
"You've been around Duo too long." Heero said.
Duo laughed, "Yeah!" he stopped to think about that, "Hey!"
"I'm sorry WuFei, but I think Quatre and I will have to agree with them."
WuFei stood up, "Fine, laugh at me, but I know what I saw." He walked
off.
That night the Chinese pilot lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling,
"I know what I saw and I'm going to prove it" he sighed and fell asleep
