folktale, about a little boy growing up with a special gift that changes
as he grows. It’s a blanket sewn by his grandfather. As he
outgrows, the blanket, grandfather makes new items he can use. Excellent,
must-read!
Sheep in a Jeep
One in a series of rollicky-rhyme books
that includes the titles Sheep Out to Eat, Sheep in a Shop, and others.
These delightful sheep will have you chuckling as you enjoy the artwork
and gentle rhythm of the text. Better pick up a few titles—like the
chips, you can’t “eat” just one!

Classic story of the importance of
kindness, creativity, and a strong heart.
Rag Coat
Beautiful story and art, in realistic
Appalachian mining-town setting, about a young girl who struggles with
poverty after her father’s death, the love that helps her go to school,
and the courage that takes her back to change taunts to admiration.
Wonderful example of forgiveness and a charitable disposition.
