| 0.5-Finding the Future |
| ~THE PRESENT~ Gohan stopped and looked at the building in front of him. Years of searching would end in just a few minutes. All he could do is hope that she would be strong enough... not buckle under the pressure of the challenge she would be given. He knew that in doing what he was doing, he was stealing some poor innocent girl's only chance at a normal life. "Is this right? Am I any better than Lysis to force this girl into a fight she knows nothing about?" He shook his head. "I have no choice..." He headed through the open door to the place where the only hope for the future lived..... ~FOUR YEARS, NINE MONTHS, AND 23 DAYS AGO~ Gohan sank to his knees, sobbing loudly. "Oh, get over yourself. I made a promise, and I intend to keep it. You will have your chance to save this planet of yours." Lysis's too smooth voice crooned. A bright light flashed and a case was transported down from the ship in front of Gohan. He looked up and realized it held the Sun-Star diamond. "Take that bauble, and prepare. I will return in five years, giving you the same opportunity I gave your weakling father." Lysis cackled, grinned, and disappeared. Gohan reached forward, and touched the Diamond in awe. It crackled with power, but Gohan knew if he even _thought_ about using it, he would release more evil into to world than even _he_ could imagine. "NOOOOO!!!" came a high-pitched scream from behind them. Gohan turned to see an air-car had landed, and three women and several children were jumping out. "Bulma... Mom...?" He muttered. The women were crying over the frozen Z-senshi, as were some of the children, but three children, two boys and a girl, came over to him. "Who are you?" a boy with short lavander hair demanded, as he went super-saiyan. "Tr-Trunks?" Gohan gasped. "Hey, how did you know his name?" the girl put her hands on her hips, and flipped her pale blue hair over her shoulder. "Go..Gohan???" Chi-chi asked looking over Trunks's head. There were tears in her eyes. "Yes, it's me, mother," he stood up, using the case to steady himself. He held his head high and tried to be strong. The other boy who had come over to where Gohan was, gasped. "R-really?" Chi-chi couldn't stand it anymore, and she flung herself at Gohan, catching him in her arms. It was at that time that he noticed her swollen middle. "Mom?" She pulled away from him, smiling slightly, "Meet your little brother, Go." Gohan's eyes widened. "Not, to break up this touching family reunion, but what the hell happened here?" the only woman Gohan didn't know said. "Calm down Lunch!!" Bulma yelled. "He's been in outer space for five years, give them a second." "No, she's right, you all deserve to hear what's going on." Gohan stated firmly. He told them how the Z-Senshi ended up frozen and Lysis's challenge. "So-so do we have any hope to fight this Lysis guy at all?" Bulma asked, shocked. Gohan waved his hand toward the Diamond for everyone to see. "That-that's HUGE!!!" Lunch said visions of diamonds in her head. "What is it, and how can it help us?" Bulma wondered. "This is what created Lysis, and it's the only thing with the right kind of power to defeat it," Gohan picked it up and looked at it. "So you'll use that and everyone will be alright, right?" Chi-chi put her hand on her round stomach. He laughed bitterly, "I can't use it. If I tried I'd probably just create another one." "What!!!" All three women shouted. "The only one who can use this without making an evil creature like Lysis, is someone with a completely innocent heart." Gohan gave a half-smile, "But to make it even harder, the Diamond feeds of pain. Do you know how much pain it would take to defeat Lysis?" he sighed and shook his head. "So, we'll find someone," Chi-chi moved over to her son. "Mom, the things that cause pain usually jade the heart. If there's one person on this entire planet that's suitable, I'd be amazed." "Then we'll find him, if he exists." Bulma crossed her arms, in her determined way. And so the search began. |
