| 0.1-The Beginning |
| THE PRESENT Gohan walked down a long sidewalk. The valley it lead into had steep sides, leaving very little "flat" land to either side of him, just enough for the road, the sidewalk, and a long, narrow field where two guys practiced pitching. He was so close. His sensor said he was less than one-half of a kilometer within his target. He had been looking for nearly five years, all by himself. It had been nearly five years since he'd lost all of his friends, and nearly ten years since that monster had been born. Ten years since he's lost the life he knew.... NINE YEARS, NINE MONTHS, & 23 DAYS AGO Gohan ran toward where his allies were. Krillin, Tien, Piccolo, Vegeta, Trunks, and his newly recovered father, Goku. Gohan ran up to his friend from the future. "Trunks? Trunks!" Gohan grabbed his arm, but the purple-haired boy just stood firm in wide-eyed shock. Then he spoke, "Tha-that...THING just roasted Cell... no problem!" Gohan looked up. In his typical clueless haste, he had missed it, or just had passed it off as a storm cloud. But that was no cloud. It had a face. A nightmarish, demonic slightly humanoid face, sharp and angular, with iron-grey skin, and glowing yellow eyes. The creature had long huge hands with long fingers and sharp fingernails. It used the "cloud" around itself like a cape. All in all it was about was roughly the size of a six-story building. "What are you!?!" Vegeta demanded in a usual princely manner. The creature laughed a soft laugh, which had a ghostly, evil quality that made Gohan's skin crawl. "I could be called Lysis, I suppose." It looked at a pile of black ash at his feet, which, Gohan realized, was the remains of Cell. Lysis reached into his "cloak" and pulled out a fist-sized diamond and a man's limp body. "This man was a man who wanted power. He found this-" Lysis thumbed the jewel- "The Sun-Star Diamond, which, once held by one with a innocent heart becomes activated, and feeds off that person's pain..." Suddenly something occurred to Gohan THAT GUY MUST HAVE TRIED TO USE THAT GEM'S POWER, BUT HE DIDN'T HAVE AN INNOCENT HEART- His eyes widened AND CREATED THAT-- LYSIS!?! "You," The creature reached over and picked up Gohan, cocking its "head," "You are very intelligent. And quite strong. You could be useful to me." "Give Gohan back!" Goku shouted and charged. "Hmm. Bug." That velvet voice made Gohan tremble. The creature barely flicked its "hand." His father collapsed, his body crushed. "That thing smashed Goku without any problem!" Krillin gaped, nearly falling over from shock. "Tell that 'goku' that if he wants his 'gohan' back he'll train very hard for the next five years." Lysis purred. "Why?" Tien said, assuming battle stance. "I will return then and if any or all of this world's warriors can defeat me, I'll return the kid. If not, well..." It grinned in deep delight, "This world is mine..." Light flashed and when everyone opened their eyes, the sky was clear. Lysis and Gohan were gone. *side note, Lysis=to break down a cell. Get it?
